Happy that I swung by for the great information! A couple of wonderings: what size holes and spacing for your snaps? Thanks!

This is a great video! I want to try this in my garden this year because I'm adding a cut flower bed his year. I really would love to see a video on how to set up those weed fleeces that you have on the ground or even just have some advice. I'm clueless how to make it stay and not blown away from the wind, how big should the holes be and what is good spacing between them?

Thanks for checking it out, we do do have plan to do a video on this very topic. But I'll do my best to give you a head start, the weed mat that we use is 3ft wide and burn 8 holes per foot 4 across. It's pinned down with 6" landscape staples every four feet on both side. We have used everything under the sun to make the holes, we used a weed burner for years but have recently changed to a cow horn cauterizer and it's way easier and faster

What is the brand name of the netting ? Is it nylon or string ? Where do or where did you buy it ? Thank you .

We use 4" wide and source it from Johnny's seeds

Maybe you addressed this and I missed it - Do you add another layer of netting, or do you move the netting up with the growth? And do you find that because the piping is flexible, do they all bend in due to the netting getting pulled on?
@RainDropFarms7 жыл бұрын
Danelle, there are a few crop that we will put a second layer of netting on, things like stock and godetia that are very tall and slender-stemmed. I don't generally move the netting. As for the posts, there is some bend to them, but we have them spaced so that there's not too much. you could certainly use metal posts or even rebar. Thanks for the questions, happy planting!

Thanks for showing how it is done...i think thisnisnthe ONLY video for us small home gardeners to see. Stakes may be a much better way for me as my space is soooo small...but it is wonderful to know how. Looks like its only about three to four inches above the ground? Do u put 2 layers in sometimes?
@RainDropFarms5 жыл бұрын
For some crops we'll put two or three layers

Thank you for the great instruction - we are in Canada and started cut flowers last year. Where could we buy the netting in a roll, we have just found the single row netting? We enjoy your videos!!!

+Breanna Sproule Netting is so important on certain crops, for sure! We buy the big rolls from Johnnys seeds. It sure goes a long way, thanks for watching :)

Which flowers do you recomend using the netting?
@RainDropFarms8 жыл бұрын
We use the netting on flowers where a straight, strong stem is not guaranteed without a little support. Sunflowers and zinnias are fine without it, but things like snapdragons, lisianthus, godetia, and mums need that extra support or else we end up picking them up off the ground.

Thanks for the video! We are going to try it this year. Are you using 2” pvc?
