I am starting to really like Excel and never thought this would happen! I think in the past I was just fearful because I did a short course many years ago, and then never had the opportunity to use Excel much in my job, however a lot of EA jobs now require a very good understanding of excel. I just used SUMIF in a table and it worked! You are such a fantastic teacher. THANK YOU AGAIN!!! :)

Thank you for the information, I have just watched all four of your first videos plus this one. I need constant refreshing on how to use Excel because I keep forgetting the simplest things. I work with pretty complex spreadsheets that upload thousands of lines of information that have been already set up by others. I am hoping to just get some insight as to how they set them up and if I can do the functions myself. Listening to what you have reviewed, I realize I know most of the basics, but appreciate your overview. I am not sure whether to use VLookups, Pivot Tables or other formulas to achieve my end result. Currently I have a spreadsheet, where there is a listing of numbers and words that I need to relate to a separate worksheet but these are constantly changing. Which worksheet should I use to make the changes, the main one where the info is updated or the smaller ones that are broken down pieces of information from the main one. Just getting a bit lost, it is probably an easy solution, I am not thinking clearly.

Can you explain how to use =mid() to return the absolute value of the specific place holder. I can get it to work for text and I can get it to work for numbers, but I can't get it to work for both at the same time. Example. SR5BQ2MT. With =mid() it will return all the text but not the number. With =value(mid)), it will return the numbers but not the text. I would like it to do both so as the character string that people enter changes the data will be updated. Thanks

Hello and thank you Sir for these videos, they're of great help. I have a question though and hope you can help. I'm practicing the =if.... using a set of numbers and the number that I'm expecting to show true is showing false which I'd expect for the other numbers that aren't the one used in the formula. Is there a reason for this? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.
