You're correct. New Glock mag springs are extremely stiff. A speed loader will help a lot in reloading.

Thank you SO much for this video!!! I was fumbling and fumbling...apparently thinking it was harder than it actually was. I thought my arthritis was the reason I couldn't get it. You showed it...I stopped the video to try it...and viola, it worked like a charm. I then unloaded the magazine a couple of times and practiced. Omigoodness...thank you so much LOL!

Thanks for the video. I recently bought a Stoeger STR-9C and it came with one of these. The manual is one of the best manuals I've seen. Clear pics and in color! But no mention of the loader. I guessed at what it was but couldn't figure out how to use it. After some practice it works pretty good.

seriously lol...maybe just call it a load assistant. I bought these load assist rings with my first 9mm long ago and still use them to this day. the 10rd pmags are way more resistant after loading in about 3 or 4 rounds. The load assist ring just goes on your thumb and has a small leg grooved for the shell, grip the mag and press down each round with ease.

I use it mainly to get that last round or two in. The way he's doing it makes it slower than what it is. Once you get the hang of it it's actually pretty quick. Can you load the mag with your bare hands just as quickly... Sure.

It gets real old loading the mags manually when you have several mags to load / unload / reload. The speed loader just helps with that, especially the last few under higher compression. But, yes, you can load them manually as much as you like.

It's not a "speed loader", it's an "easy loader" or "loading aid". Speed loaders make loading 10-20 rounds in 2 seconds possible. This Easy Loader helps you push the already installed round into the mag, making it easier to insert the next round.

I like the way none of these guys load past 6, or so rounds! Ezy pezy, but getting down to the last 3 out of 15 (in a new mag), is a BITCH! Update: Yesterday I bought a new Glock 19 with a 15 round mag and found the included speed loader to suck, but in the comments someone mentioned the UpLula, so I looked it up and watched a video... WOW, what a difference! I've been out of shooting for over 10 years and when I saw a video of the UpLula a light bulb went off and I remembered I had one. After much digging I found it, unloaded 5 rounds from the new mag I had struggled with last night and BOOM! My suggestion, get to the gun store and buy an UpLula!

I would only use the speed loader like the first 10-20 times you load the mags then it's pretty much unnecessary, once the mag springs are broken in enough.

This appears to work pretty well with the magazine shown here. I have a new Zigana PX9 pistol that came with a similar device, but it does not work well at all. The spring in my magazine seems to be much stiffer than the one in this video, which is probably the biggest issue. When trying to use the loader, it pushes down only the rear end of the top bullet in the magazine, leaving the nose of the round sticking up at an angle. This prevents insertion of the next round to be loaded, making the "speed loader" pretty much useless. I'll probably get one of the Maglula loaders and see if that works, because it's VERY difficult to load this PX9 magazine by hand.
