We hope more people try this approach- using toned paper heightened with white is a great way to step out of the familiar and gain better control over values! Notice the light grip on the pencil, BTW- for this type of drawing, it should be easy for someone to pull the pencil right out of your hand. If the grip is too tight, or you're exerting too much pressure, you risk restricting fluidity of movement, and maybe even laying down too much medium into embossed marks. Very nice!

I totally agree! Hey, did you discontinue the Scotch Gray card stock and large sheets of construction paper? I’ve used these in my classes for years and they were the perfect tone and texture!
