How to use hard light with a barn door

If you want to add drama to your filmmaking, use hard light.
A barn door is an easy way to shape hard light. It comes in various sizes, and you can use different honeycomb grids to help focus the light. There are many hard light modifiers you can use on lights like the Aputure Amaran 200d . or any other Bowens mount light.
The flags on the barn door help direct and shape the light source. Here are some examples.

I have some newer led panels with barn doors and I never thought to direct the light. I just have it opened to spread the light out. I guess I did think to direct it 😂

The barn door? It's from aputure, but you can use any barn door with a Bowens mount.
