Thank you SO MUCH for this review! I've been contemplating buying a more industrial heat press to replace my Cricut Easypress, so this is quite timely. As a fellow height-challenged person, I definitely sympathize with your struggles. And WHYYYYYY did I not think to use my press for interfacing?!?!?! That is genius! I've been using my iron like an idiot and standing at the ironing board for a million years.

It's an absolute life changer to use a heat press for interfacing! It's the only way I'll get any production sewing done. I need to interface whole sections of fabric, THEN cut. Or if it's fiddly and I need to fussy cut, I'll cut out the pieces, then lay them out on a larger piece of interfacing and press. Only cut twice that way.

omg I needed this video - thank you. I've been considering getting one since I'm bothering to use my Cricut more finally, and uh I am 5' tall. With the auto press it's been a subtle but impactful change to my workflow. I load it up, press the button, then I can go back to my cutting table and do something without worrying about babysitting the press. It's only 20 seconds, but it DOES matter to the workflow, at least for me. I'm ADHD so I like to bounce around and get a lot of things done.

I've had this press for a few months now & love it for the most part . . . but. I had to letter some XXL hoodies last week & had to revert back to my old press. No matter which way you turn them, big hoodies just won't fit, there isn't anywhere for the hood or extra fabric to go. Smaller hoodies work fine upside down, but with large ones there just isn't enough room at the back of the machine for any material to bunch up. Other than that, the only thing I would like to see added is a pressure adjustment.

Thank you for this entertaining and educational video! I am considering buying this but am wondering how I would fuse interfacing/stabilizer to fabric/vinyl/etc (like a men’s shirt or quilting cotton from a bolt) that’s larger than the 15”x15” ironing plate, especially if I don’t want to cut it down? I wonder if they make a large 15” square iron with a handle (like a regular iron, but much, much bigger) that you can manually press onto your fabric, but maybe they do. Sorry for my rambling on and on….🙂

@fiercekittenz

There isn't, but I just follow the manufacturer guidelines for the HTV. For preparing bags with interfacings, I use the 320F/15s preset. Vinyl I'll use 300F/10s preset. I THINK that's what the presets are offhand. The jist is not to go more than 10 seconds on the vinyl and keep it at a low temp. It isn’t - did I say it was? I need to add a correction if I did: it sets its own pressure by detecting how far down it goes before it hits the base plate, then goes a little further from there for the “pressure.” You can somewhat control it by adding some padding to it.
