I used to be a Delphi developer and somehow an evangelist since its 1.0 version for Win 3.x days until version 2007, also going through the FPC era too. Honestly I don't think Delphi is worth using it anymore as there are plenty of more specialized and general-purpose coding environments out there for free. Greetings from Brazil!

Hi Igomesigomes, this is not a chanell for to discuss about using Delphi or not. This is a channel for people who are using Delphi and could perhaps need some tipps and tricks. But only a short remark: You missed a lot after Delphi 2007, from my point of view esspecially the new possibilities with the FireMonkey Framework, that enables one to develop apps for windows, macos, linux, ios and android. I've done cross plattform development some years before it was possible with Delphi. From my point of view Delphi is the best environment to cover all this plattforms. Greetings from Germany!

@@programmingwithdelphiI see, makes sense. It is interesting to see that there are still people using the platform and, naturally, it has undergone updates to compensate for all the deficiencies it had until then (even FPC was waaaay better than Delphi at that time), mainly because it still carried the old-fashioned RAD paradigm, which was a huge burden and a source of problems. I was a regular on the old Borland newsgroup and several TeamB members agreed exactly on the huge difference in vision between JB and C++B developers - where the focus was on developer control - while in Delphi the focus was on dragging components and changing properties , hoping that everything would work. I hope that changed as well.
