I got my Auto Tumbler Heat Press during black Friday and have ruined 3 metallic tumblers and two snowglobe glass mugs. I see in this video there is ghosting on the 20oz tumblers. Is this a defect of this heat press? I want help before I opt to return this heat press.

Sometimes it can be the mug itself that may require different time and temperature. Saw a video of a mug being done in less than a minute for about the same temp. Generally most require 380-400F even. Also the sublimation paper itself may have a different spec depending on manufacturer. It is a very tricky craft to get into.

In some cases when there’s ghosting, some people who expect it they sometimes try heat pressing just the edge (top or bottom, where ever the bevel is) and it helps gets those rounded edges. Since it’s not flat it won’t get the same amount of contact as the flat sides. Some people also roll the edges on a table top while it’s still hot to aid the transfers to the substrate.

Not necessary. Shrink wrap usually is for oven.

TAPING ISSUE: Air Gaps between the design and the surface of the tumbler. This has happened to me in the past when I began sublimating tumblers. SOLUTION: Make sure to use a scraper, a spoon, or your fingernail, to press along the seam where the paper slightly overlaps. This little overlap traps a little air and causes ghosting. Press down while moving it several times all the way along the seam to prevent this from happening. You are making the design touch the surface of the tumbler at the seam . Be sure to roll the top and bottom edges of your tumblers on the table to press out any air gaps where it is taped. I also trim the paper evenly with the edges of the tumbler before tapping the top and bottom. This works great every time for me. Taping creased paper traps air and can be hard to press out completely. That’s why I trim my paper to the edge of the tumbler. I hold it up and use scissors to trim it to the same length of the tumbler. I only have to do the bottom because I turn my tumbler upside down and place it on the table to make the paper even with the tumbler. Then I tape it, making sure that no air gaps are there. I have tried 2 of the HTVRont tumbler press and can NOT sublimate on the Glass Cans!!! I have tried your reference on time and temperature and even Jennifer Makers. I have tried completely taping the cup and using a Teflon sheet to protect the machine and I have tried with only the image taped on.. no luck!!😢😡😡😡😡

I just made an order of 50 mugs. The tumbler press did not take 15 oz mugs. I had to use my Cricut mug press, and I was upset. Waste of money.

Some people convert an epson ET 8550 and use Hippo sublimation ink. The paper also has to be sublimation paper. Hippo ink also requires an ICC profile for the printer. With what I experience with the ET8550 I had to use different settings that what the community recommended in most videos and forums… got the Epson surecolor F570 sublimation printer, and I honestly love it. It is more expensive but it gets the job done and comes with a software to layout and set print jobs. Comes with the required ink needed for sublimation too. Worth the money.

To say I am disappointed with the htvront automatic tumbler press would be a gross understatement. Oh, it worked for about a month making mugs. But after making one tumbler, the entire machine no longer works. The ON/OFF light is ON continuously and the screen is blank. It does not heat, I cannot adjust it for all practical purposes it is nothing more than a very large paperweight with a lighted ON/OFF switch. I am hard pressed (sic) now to turn out an order of tumblers. I will probably lose the order as a result. Really NOT happy at all with this machine.🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐

I have resolved the issue with the button as instructed in the information sent via email and the machine is now working again. Thanks again for the response. I retract all the negative thoughts on this machine as it is now functioning correctly.
