You said Yesterday is crossed because tadi is only used for today's activities, and at the end of the video you said that tadi malam means yesterday night 🧐
@Learnbahasa.indonesia4 ай бұрын
In any languages there are always “Exceptions”. If you say TADI (alone) it means TODAY - PAST. but if you COMBINE tadi with time (pagi, siang, sore, malam), tadi malam means LAST night (exception ). You need to distinguish TADI vs TADI + TIME.

Indonesian is a dun one when it comes to tenses. You CAN use them, but you dont have too. Tenses atent nessesary in Indonesia but you can use words to make them.

What is the difference between this and "telah"? Also it should be "What did you just say?" at 2:09
@mrmog3833 Жыл бұрын
Telah means like undefined time that already happened like in perfect tense.. so apa yang kamu bilang tadi (what have you said?)
@natureforest10 ай бұрын
"Telah" is a formal way of "sudah" Both mean "already" in English. I have eaten..... Saya sudah/telah makan.

I understand that the opposite of "tadi" would be "nanti", is that correct?
@TheIndonesianPride Жыл бұрын
Yes. Nanti = later. Tadi = just now.

At the beginning of the video you mentioned that the word “tadi” coud not be used for things that happened yesterday but then you proceeded with examples using time marker “yesterday” as in yesterday night (tadi malam). Please be consistent when giving an explanation. Make sure to give some exceptions to the rule beforehand to avoid confusion. it's true that in most cases the word "tadi" cannot be used for events that happened yesterday, but there is an exception. We can use it for an action that happened last night (tadi malam). Also morning normally starts from 6am and ends at 11 am (roughly), not from 4am - 11 pm ( jam 4 sore sampai jam 11 malam?). If you drink coffee at 4 am, you will say Saya minum kopi jam 4 subuh. Thanks
@Learnbahasa.indonesia10 ай бұрын
The word SUBUH is from Islamic prayer ( around 4.15 - 5 am ) and NOT all Indonesian Native speakers say 4 am : “jam 4 subuh”, they can say PAGI as well. >> 3 am : PAGI, subuh, MALAM, 2 am : PAGI, MALAM, 1 am : PAGI, DINI HARI, MALAM. 12 am : MALAM, DINI HARI. 6 am : ONLY PAGI. And in the video it’s clear with 2 points first that you CANNOT use tadi for yesterday events, ONLY today’s the events and second : UNLESS “tadi malam” ( “LAST night” ).
@kuatbudiono259010 ай бұрын
I will say : Minum kopi jam 4 pagi, saya bagun jam 4 pagi, saya sholat subuh jam 4 pagi. I will not say : Saya sholat subuh jam 4 subuh 😂 sound weird. We can also use : Pagi.

@@kuatbudiono2590 Appreciate that. Thanks very much!!❤
@@Learnbahasa.indonesiayeah pagi is from 1 am to 9 am. 10 am is SIANG, not pagi, unless youre lazy person who wakes up at 9 am.

Good lesson on this. But you should have told us also that tadi sore can only be said once it's gone into the malam, and tadi siang can only be said once it's into sore or malam. Tinggal di mana? Jakarta atau mungkin Semarang DLL?

Tadi is "was" just for in the past
@mrmog3833 Жыл бұрын
It's simply how we use perfect tense. Past tense doesn't use telah as the time was already defined.. yesterday, last week etc..
