Lol I actually already knew this because i researched this on the wiki for my manhunt commandblock setup. There the Hunter gets a compass he cant drop, craft or loose upon death but he still can move it around in his inventory.

How did you get it to track the speed runner? Ik there’s a way to do it by setting the spawn point repeatedly but that means when the hunter dies they respawn right next to the hunter which won’t be good.

/replaceitem entity @s slot.hotbar 1 netherite_pickaxe 1 0 {"can_destroy":{"blocks:["iron_ore,"gold_ore"]}, "keep_on_death":{}} You can (possibly) see the two sections so you can change what type of pick, what it can break, and it can be a give or a replaceitem, you can change what slot it replaces to if you want to replace...... have fun.....hope i wrote it correctly.. :) I realize that you may not see this message but to anyone who does: have fun and i hope you can use this :)

You could make the player invisible which would get rid of the name tags but they would have to be forced to wear armor to see them. If you want to do that you could put dispensers that shoot out armor with curse of binding onto a player. Then you can use a clone command to refill to dispensers so that every thing is automatic.
