How to use Jane Davenport Layer Cakes and Magic Wands like me.

Hello lovelies, I hope the week has been treating you well.
Since we weren't able to go live, Rocky and I wanted to create a little something for you to watch in our absence.
In this week's video, Jane Davenport's Layer Cakes & Magic Wands were CALLING MY NAME. I also had a few requests by some lovely viewers, asking to make a video showing how I create my little cartoon cuties, so here we are!

OMG, Kimball! I LOVE your videos! They are so well-produced! So many camera angles! Not to mention your amazing art-making, of course! So much work, I know, so it's truly appreciated! I had a channel back in the day before I knew much about graphic design or video production, but just haven't made the time for it in so long. Kinda makes me cringe to go back and see it now, but also kinda sweet to see at the same time. Haha! I've contemplated getting back into it, but first I'm just trying to get back into my art. Thank you so much! The Color Wheels are all different colors. I think there might be a skin tone, black, white and maybe one other color that were so popular she did one repeat of them… but all the palettes bring a lot of new colors! 🧡

I really don't know how to do Direct Messaging, so, sorry for this, but if I could only afford three brushes, what would you recommend? (Sorry for possible misspelling!)

Hmmmm, honestly, I have no idea. I really like a round brush for watercolors. I have a small flat brush that I prefer for acrylics but I kinda use whatever I have. I have a small selection and I really only try to keep watercolor brushes for watercolor or ink and acrylic brushes for acrylic… but I do mix them up sometimes. 😬🧡 use whatever feels most comfortable for you.

One more thing (I promise!). Do you usually draw the "ear hooks" on glasses, or just leave them out? I've never been able to do glasses because I can't seem to be able to do that!

😝 not usually, no… mostly because you don’t really see them. If I really wanted to go more realistic then yeah…. I might consider drawing them! 😜🧡

Yes… I’m assuming you’re talking about taking a picture and flipping it…? I can’t remember if I did that in this video but it should be one of the edit functions in your photos section… I’ve only ever owned iPhone so I’m not sure how to help. 🧡
