The procedure is slightly different for some car models I was working full time as a guard, but I always was a mechanically minded person, so I got a part time job as a mechanics assistant at the weekend where I picked up valuable knowledge about egr and ecu from my master mechanic nonshort courses will teach you all those skills plus how to remap aswell knowledge my friend takes time but if your intrested a little self study will help but a short course is not the answer you will have to put the work in no matter what learn the system plus some hands on skills hope this helps cassim.

Hello, please did you replaced the original file on a blank ecu or the current ecu was containing its original file? Or you will have to erase it first? Kindly enlighten me on that .

What backup power to use in case car battery runs out of juice during writing? Can you just plug other car to the car you are working on with jump cables ? Any budget option ? Maybe just car battery with some adapter to lower voltage ? What will happen to car's ecu if laptop will freeze during reading or writing ?

Very true voltage is critical that's why a lot of cars parked up for months with battery drained have ecu issues and won't start up again

You should go to Alientech website and check the softwares car list. If is readable by Kess, it means is possible to do via OBD.

The amount of comments on here by people with zero mapping or auto electronics experience is not surprising at all , first you must at least know how to swim before you want to go surfing a big wave this tutorial is a very basic ecu remapping procedure, using basic equipment its just scratching the surface of tuning an ecu
