Just a reminder: Hyram is only one person with one skin type. Just because he says this is the "best" cleanser, serum, retinol etc he's used does NOT mean it will be the best one you use! Don't get discouraged if something you buy isn't mind blowing. Also remember that the best thing you can do for the environment is to not buy excess product you don't need. If you buy something just for the environmental impact, is it far better to donate to these organizations directly. Only buy something if you need it, can afford it and will use it (without sacrificing another product you own).

I love Hyram, but because he has nitpicked every single product he has reviewed and made thousands of claims, statements, and comments about skincare products and their imperfections (which is totally okay) he is now finding it difficult to "practice what he preached" in his own skincare line because anything he does that may be industry standard or something necessary will be caught out by fans if it does not align with his reviews in the past.

@@annem6368 basically Hyram has analysed so many products and made so many critiques that it might be hard to create a skincare line that adheres to each and every one of his own criticisms. For example, let’s say Hyram said in the past that “ethanol” is a bad ingredient. If he formulates his products with ethanol, fans will notice that this is contradictory. Since he has made thousands of such critiques it will be difficult to ensure that he adheres to them for all of his products.

It’s funny we have people commenting ‘why don’t you sell larger products’ and also ‘I wish it was more affordable’ 🤔 the bigger the more it costs, I think what he did was a happy medium especially for how little he stated you need to use every time. Especially if you use it the way he recommended. I agree bigger sizes would be nice. But for the initial launch I think it makes sense to do smaller sizes. So people can test the products without a big monetary commitment. Not doubting the product, but some people just don’t like certain products. That could happen. I’m sure more sizes will be available as time goes on. The brand, just launched… let them get a consistent buyer base who want big products and they can fund more sizes. Also changing the size could change the recyclability of the container. Possibly not, but it’s a factor to be considered.

His products are regular sized products, the same as every other brands. You don't even need more than 5 drops of serum because of it's concentration. Even 30ml of bottle can last more than 1 month. Some of your products (the cleanser, the retinol and the SA serum) have failed your own phenoxyethanol trick you gave in your “how to read ingredient lists” video. Has your mind changed? Were you wrong before? I’m honestly confused and worried about how effective they will actually be.
@preronapalit5734
@preronapalit5734 3 жыл бұрын
In that video he mentions that ingredients mentioned below phenoxyethanol are usually less than 1% and as a result aren't effective. But in case of retinol, 1% retinol is harsh for the skin. Ideally a retinol product should have 0.3 to 0.5% of retinol so as to be effective without leading to skin damage. So, I guess previously he was wrong about the retinol and about the cleanser and SA serum, I am not well aware of the nitty gritty.

Hyram, I am confused too. That's a really good point. I forgot about that trick you taught us. In the cleanser, the green tea and centella each are less than 1% because they are after phenoxyethanol in the ingredient deck. 😞 In that video you said, "If you find a product that is advertising that it has an incredible natural extract like aloe vera or squalane or snail mucin, but you find that it is listed below phenoxyethanol, that product is probably bull sh*t." The ingredients you're promoting in the cleanser are below phenoxyethanol. I've been a long-time supporter, but I am starting to get worried. 🥺 I was so excited for you to release your own products, but now I'm not so sure.

Not to be a complete h8ter but ive issues with some pdts. I hope u can clear teh misconceptions: 1) For the cleanser the website states 3% centella, yet the centella extracts is behind the preservative phenoxyenthanol, which the safe standard is at 1%. Can u explain this incongruency? Also since the green tea extract is listed after phenoxyethanol does it mean its lesser than 1% and r u sure its effects will be shown in such low concentration? 2) The salicylic acid serum is at 0.5% and ive read many derm articles that such percentage literally does nothing for exfoliation. It only reduces redness since salicylic acid is an anti-inflammatory at low concentration. Im srry but i find it very misleading for an ineffective product, maybe you shld make it 1% at least. Also, the fact that theres virtually no independent conclusive researches on succinic acid so ig it wouldnt be unreasonable for me to discount its role in the pdt. 3) The retinol and rainbow algae product. This was the most disappointing. Ig i could understand the thought process behind 0.2% encapsulated retinol even tho i find it too little a concentration. But what disappointed me was the fact that you used the rainbow algae as one of the star ingredients when its literally the 2nd last in the ingredients list?😭 Isnt it a shady way of marketing ur pdt cos at such low concentration im very skeptival it does anything. 4) Citric acid. It seems to be present in a couple of pdts and i may be misinformed but is it not a form of fragrance? Why include potentially sensitizing ingredients? I rlly hope u can clear this issue up to reinforce the transparency of selfless P.S.: im also very curious abt how green is his brand actlly. Maybe im just a cynic but im always wary of brands latching onto the ecofriendly status.

I'll give these the benefit of the doubt as there might be "something" about the formulas and the unique combinations. For now.

Now that is an interestic critique! In my second year at uni PLA had been seen as the "second coming", the palstic that would ris us of PET once and for all, but you are right: there are studies that show that this particular plant derived plastic isn't sustanible. The problem is not so much recycling it: because even if PLA is unstable at T > than 60°C it doesn't mean that it will not biodegrade just that it will take more than 75 days (in my country that is the standard), also during composting there are ways to facilitate decay at lower temperatures/humidity. The porblem is that this particular plastic is derived from Corn. That is what shifts the balance on PLA's Sustanability: to cultivate Corn just for PLA is much too wastefull, in water(even is it is still quite low-waste) and in cost. It is estimated that to employ it on large-scale you would need more that 12 M Ton per year, thus sky rocketing the raw material price, creating difficulties in the supply chain and, in doing so, depleting food reserves and preventing poorer countries from buying it. Now here lies the difference: if Hyram's SugarCane derived packing is 1) used on a smallish scale, as most completely "Carbon neutral" productions are unfortunately. 2) It is even more sparing in H2O consumpion during farming/production than that could be a point in favour of this tipe of packaging.

I AM SO EXCITED! I'm also so impressed, proud and motivated because of the difference I can make from simply just purchasing a product. I don't mean to take any of your hard work away, but it is THIS easy to make a product and make a difference. I can give one person clean drinking water for a year from buying a product SO WHY ISN'T EVERYONE ELSE CREATING THIS? Like, by doing your part, you're helping millions of people also do theirs. But thank you Hyram, we're all very proud of you and can't wait to try your products

I’m currently on acne antibiotics, will the products still be effective while on a “detox”?
@harvestthenugg
@harvestthenugg 3 жыл бұрын
By antibiotics do you mean oral or topical? Because if you're using a topical medication (ex. adapalene/tretinoin/tazarotene) or a harsher oral medication (ex. isotretinoin/accutane) I would suggest you just stick to cleansing and moisturizing, but not any of the exfoliating serums. If it's a milder oral medication (ex. doxycycline), you can use anything, just don't use multiple exfoliants at once because your skin is more sensitive, but that can also go for everyone.

Why does this brand feel like a low quality knock off of Krave Beauty. All of her products have the “active” ingredients high up on the list. For instance the hemp cleanser has Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water as the first ingredient instead of water. Why couldn’t you do this with your cleanser. Moreover both cleansers are at the same exact price point $4/fluid ounce, The active ingredients in your cleanser are last on the ingredient list and are after a preservative that by law...can only be at a 1% concentration, thus the extracts you use are at

Hyram, I have a couple of questions. Why do we need to dry our face completely after cleansing, before using a serum/treatment? What is the shelf life of each product? What kind of preservatives are included in each formula? Do any of these need to be stored in a refrigerator? For any of these products, is refrigeration not necessary but highly recommended? Or would refrigeration potentially damage the formula?
