As hyram stated before, when it comes to fragrance, “it’s the not poison but the dose” - in other words meaning that the important takeaway concerning skincare products which contain fragrance ingredients is that it’s not necessarily fragrance itself that leads to things such as skin potential future skin damage/irritation &/or things such as contact dermatitis, but rather the amount of fragrance within the product that determines the potential risk of irritation to the skin. In other words, since brands aren’t required to disclose the amount of fragrance ingredients within a product, one “blue’s clue” or thing to use to weed out overly fragranced, potentially irritating ingredients within a skincare product, is looking at how high up the term fragrance is. The higher up it is, usually, not always, means that there is likely a higher chance for there to be a higher concentration or quantity of fragrance ingredients within the skincare product. Hope this helps clarifies some questions & confusion about fragrance

@@oohmygrace no official tests have been done to say what the dear Klairs SPF is, but if it's the same formula for that chemical SPF done by the same lab, it could have the same problem. These are all really good points. Especially forgetting to wear SPF! I've learned the hard way that this is a very big step in skincare. When I was younger, there wasn't much available to choose from except brand knowledge, and they all pretend that they're the best out there. Now there's a ton of information, plus your channel, that gives the best recommendation for taking care of your skin. These are all great suggestions!

Here is my skincare routine. I love my routine and the results so much. I have normal-dry acne prone skin and struggling with post acne dark spots. In the morning: Either • cerave foaming cleanser if I’m feeling more oily than normal But most days I just • YTTP superfood cleanser Then the only vitamin c that doesn’t break me out • physicians formula brightening vitamin shot The best moisturizer for my skin is • cerave daily lotion Then the best sunscreen ever •supergoop unseen sunscreen At night If I’m wearing make up I use • versed cleansing balm Don’t love the fragrance but the texture is nice. If I’m just wearing sunscreen I use • versed gentle cycle milky cleanser I know it’s a water based cleanser but it has so many oils abs breaks me out if I use it alone Then my second cleanse will each be one of the morning cleansers or • urban skin RX even tone And I use it as a 3 minute mask and second cleanse Then I alternate between my favorite product • ordinary granactive retinoid emulsion Or a prescription from dermatologist Then • cerave daily lotion Looking for a nice eye cream if anyone has an recommendations

I think this is the second or third time I watch this video. I am so happy about all the points you covered. Because of you and some dermatologists I follow from Instagram, I make sure to wear sunscreen daily and I've gotten good at reapplying throughout the day. I try to aim for every two hours, even indoors. There have been some exceptions, though. Like if I'm in my room with the windows closed and hopefully taking a nap xD. I do try to avoid heavily fragranced products because along with being oily/ acne-prone, I do have sensitive skin and I can't handle perfume in any products, including a perfumed body wash. I have gotten myself to scale down on my treatments and my gentler approach has been extremely beneficial. Thank you for always being so helpful and sharing your knowledge!

@@gerdalehis8285 eczema relief body cream from eucerin and Cera Ve SA cleanser has been the ONLY think to help me, I swear I dealt with it for 20+ years and it has only just started clearing up very recently. What have you tried? I get it by on my legs and arms, I'm sure having it on the face can be challenging. Don't give up on it, but don't stress too hard about it. It sucks having something you can't just "fix" and you really want to. I have a stubborn skin condition with no cure yet and I still have yet to get the symptoms under control. After going to the dermatologist for over a year they haven't done a drop in the bucket for me compared to dr dray/hyrams recommendations...sad really.

Thank you for including the tip about natural products. I'm new into skincare, and that's something I was thinking a lot about. It's so good to know to stay away!
@michaelsusanhyde4 жыл бұрын
I kept hearing “natural” products aren’t good for your skin, but that was what I had always used. So I started using other products like the ordinary and the inkey list and similar. They did absolutely nothing to improve my skin, some did quite the opposite. So now I went back to “natural”. I use a Ayurvedic aromatherapy based line of only four products and am finally seeing good results. This type of product may not meet with some people’s approval but they work really well for me. Wish I had figured it out sooner, would have saved myself several hundred dollars and the stress of messed up skin.
@nikki40124 жыл бұрын
Yeah I definitely think products like the ordinary/inkey list can be as harsh as any other product. It does really depend on your skin sensitives (and how you use it!), I found natural products to be just as effective (depending on the ingredients, of course). Wish Hyram didn't categories everything natural as bad, but I can see where he's coming from. Essential oils can be really bad for some people, so I can see why he wouldn't recommend it for a big audience.
@cookiedave444 жыл бұрын
I don’t think the message is that natural is bad. I think the message is to be aware that the term “natural” is used as a marketing strategy, and that natural doesn’t always mean good. I think Hyram just doesn’t want us to be tricked by advertising, that’s all :)

Same. There are two natural creams i get from amazon for my dry skin for $20 and in the morning i look like i went to a facial spa. Meanwhile i tried 3 expensive AF tatcha full size products that did nothing for me...i could have just not used any products...the water cream even dried me out more. Also tried a bunch of other expensive or medium priced products he recommended and they either caused pimples, red bumps or were just okay. Idk what to believe anymore but i know my natural cream works amazing, i know all the ingredients, and it saves me money.

So we are using a suuuper gentle baby shampoo instead. :) On a personal level, from watching your videos, I've switched from using EVERYTHING Origins to primarily using Cerave, Purito, and now experimenting with the Elf Happy Hydration & Pink Jelly cleanser you recommended.
