I would say the B translation is the better one, because when you ask someone where did he/she go on vacation, you already know that going on vacation is something special for that person, and it doesn't really matter where he/she went to or the fact that he/she goes there every year. ///// By the way, your videos are awesome, I'm learning more from you that from my Chinese textbook. My God! 😰 I mean... Wow... I begin to be interested in Chinese mandarin language nowadays... Sometimes I think, it's ok, I can do it... You touch on it, but it seems there are so many more examples of when to omit le where I would have expected it to be used. For example, in the negative, in the negative/positive question, when using yi qi (together) , as in "we're going to leave together," etc.

(I'm going to leave?) or here... Guò yī huì r wǒ yào zǒu le. (I'm going to leave later.) … why don't you use it here?: Jiù wǒ yī gè rén zǒu. (I will leave alone. / I am leaving alone.) Aren't they both in the "Be about to" pattern? Is it because if you only have Jiù and not yào, it doesn't fit into the "Be about to" pattern?

Good question. Actually we can use le with yiqi but there's an implied meaning: e.g. Tamen yiqi zou le. They left together ( The implied meaning for that le is: They didn't plan to leave together but they did so that's a change of state)

Jiu wo yi ge ren zou. Lit. Just me alone leave. That jiu isn't part of the BE ABOUT TO pattern

I think it would be useful to call the le's in the double le structure le3, and le4; since their function is distinct from le1 and le2--I believe. Once I realized this, I found the concept of the "double le" structure less confusing. So many le's!
