Thank you for this wonderful explanation on how to use this feature. I did a test drive in a Lexus today and the salesperson told me that the car did not have dynamic Radar Cruise Control. I mentioned that in the online ad, it said that the car came equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control. So between us, we "sort of" figured out how to use it. It was a feature that I REALLY wanted on my next car. I realize that not all salespeople can know every feature of a car. But this was a Lexus dealership. Nonetheless, thank you again for this video. You saved me a ton of research and reading.

Thank you. I appreciate your prompt reply. I've been using Mercedes dynamic cruise control which they call distronic at the car doesn't gain over a mile per hour going uphill or downhill from. We have a 2016. I think I mentioned previously that gains almost 7 miles an hour going downhill and it takes a long time for it to take to go uphill

Does the dynamic cruise control gain speed going downhill or lose speed going uphill when it's set. Our 2016 RX 350 gains about 5 to 7 mph downhill which is just not acceptable

The car should maintain speed going downhill or uphill with the Dynamic Cruise set by modulating throttle and gearing. Unless the hill is uncommonly steep, I have not experienced adaptive cruise systems gaining speed downhill.

This system is not meant for hands free driving, you need to keep your hands on the wheel and watch the road

I have 3 question Does it brake by itself on stop n go traffic? Can it make lane changes by itself? Can it use the navigation to navigate itself?

Yes it can brake by itself and bring itself to a complete stop (on this model), no it cannot make lane changes or use the Navigation to navigate itself. Those last two features may be added to future Lexus models, but they are not currently included with this system

Lane Tracing only works when the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is active

Im sorry, but its disengaging when you hit 0, in start and stop, you have to re-resume, correct?

The Dynamic radar cruise control doesn't really disengage when you come to a stop, you just need to tell it when to start moving again

Honestly it really depends on the year/model/options on your particular Toyota, they’ve built so many versions of it over the years it might or might not

FRONT CROSS-TRAFFIC ALERT* TRAFFIC JAM ASSIST* (REQUIRES DRIVE CONNECT* SUBSCRIPTION; 3-YEAR TRIAL INCLUDED). 4G NETWORK DEPENDENT. I'm wondering why I would pay for (traffic jam assist) if the LEXUS SAFETY SYSTEM+ 3.0 comes with DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL already standard.. would I need to pay for the subscription after 3 years just to use CC under 25mph? Hopefully my question is a littler clearer.. thanks

Sometimes my LX600 locks to the car in front of me and sometimes it doesn’t…what gives?

Could it be that the times you feel you LX hasn't locked on to the car in front of you that car is too far out front? If it is simply unpredictable regardless of distance, I would recommend taking it to a dealer and having them inspect it to see if there is a malfunction.

@@CarDietrich It shows a laser beam on the dash when it “locks on” but normally it lasts for a few seconds then “unlocks.”

One thing I noticed about the RX I drove was that the center screen would change what it was showing me depending on what I had selected. For example, when I had the screen set to show fuel economy information but the Dynamic Cruise was active, the Cruise screen would pop up to show me when it had locked on to a new target, and then switch back to the fuel economy data after a few seconds or so. Is that what is going on with your car?
