There are so many creative tools you can use to update old furniture pieces. And you don't always have to repaint furniture to get a new finish or new look.
Liming wax is fantastic (and super easy) quick topcoat that adds age and depth with no paint required.
You can find it here with us in our online store!

I really like to use it to update old pine furniture.
If you're tired of "golden" pine, and you'd like a more aged look, then Liming Wax is a simple way to create age and enrich your finish.

I’ve tried this technique not so long ago and I absolutely love it, very old world European look. This was a very helpful video full of great tips.

I did some old Mexican chairs like this and they look extremely old and beautiful. By the way, couldn’t help but notice how you styled your hair looks so pretty 😊

You mentioned leaving the wax on for an extended time, but (unless I missed it) you didn't say whether you wiped of excess or just left it as is in the end. Wanting to try this technique on French Provincial cane back chairs. Thanks :)

Hi Heather! I do wipe it back after it dries just a bit :) I let it sit and dry some first though, or else it almost all wipes off.

Do you not lightly sand the varnish off?

No, I did not

Do you need to seal with a poly after the wax for it to stay? As in a dining room table? Or banister?
@LostFoundDecor
@LostFoundDecor 3 жыл бұрын
Wax is always your last step, so I would not apply a polyacrylic on top (it won't stick). Once the wax dries and cures, it will provide a nice, durable finish.

Does the stay on permanently or does it have to be reapplied periodically?
@LostFoundDecor
@LostFoundDecor Жыл бұрын
It stays on because it dries hard. Some areas that get a lot of ongoing, hard wear, may benefit from a reapply after some time

Why not sand the piece, or rough it with a wire brush first?

Just watching this, question. After using the liming wax how long before I can use it? Planing to use on floating shelves to get a weathered look

Has anyone ever tried this product on wicker?
@LostFoundDecor
@LostFoundDecor 3 жыл бұрын
Is your wicker dried out? If so this will soak in and work beautifully! If it still has a gloss or finish on it, then you will have to dab it on and let it dry, similar to how it's done in the video.
