I’m not sure if you ever ship your pieces, but I was wondering if you’d ever consider doing a tutorial video on how to package and ship oil paintings... ...selfish ask only cause I’ve got a few people back home in the states who want some that I’ve painted. Keep up the amazing work, man! Super helpful!

I made a video a long while ago about how to ship huge paintings ( but I never launched it ) Let me see if its still a good video - if it is, perhaps I will launch it just for you :)

Thanks for the tip. I notice when I use liquid clear I am more of a mud mixer then when I use liquid white, even though I feel I'm using only a small amount. Do you get a lot of towel fragments on the canvas though? I will definitely try this.
@kittysmith89594 жыл бұрын
Kitchen paper towel does that a lot, have you tried blue shop towel? It's usually a lot stronger 💜
@WildCreates4 жыл бұрын
LC is just pure Medium so its a lot stronger. Try using the Shop Towel I show in the video ( its strong and doesn't leave fragments often) If you do get fragments, just wipe them off with your brush like I show in the video too :)

Question - if you are using a black canvas, is there an advantage to using liquid black over using liquid clear before you start painting? Thanks Wild. Love ya
@WildCreates Жыл бұрын
When comparing to LC to LB... LB will knock down the value of the color you mix it with ( LC will not ). I have an old video where I show and explain the effect if you are interested. Check out young Wild below ha ha ha: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIaXdZukndyXh5Y

Can u use liquid clear over acrylic paints before applying oil paint
@WildCreates3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can
@sheilamclaughlin963 Жыл бұрын
Clear is the hardest to apply thin enough, shop towel is a good idea, mud dabbed to much with clear, another one that was very hard was clouds between mountians

is this how you put the liquid white on to, put it on then whip the access off with a shop towel too.
@WildCreates4 жыл бұрын
LW is a lot less slick due to the fact that it has pigment with it. So you can skip the towel step when it comes to LW.

There is a little plastic tab inside my Ross plastic liquid clear container. Do you save it or throw away? Sorry if it is a dumb question. Idk if it seals leaks or is just a shipping seal.
@WildCreates3 жыл бұрын
There shouldn't be a plastic tab in the bottle. I think that is the plastic seal that should be under the bottle cap. It most likely popped off and fell in. Hope that helps you out.

wondering if there is a difference between Bob Ross Liquid Clear Paint and the Bob Ross Liquid Clear Medium, which is what you show on your link? They have different labels but are both Bob Ross. Thanks

I don't know what the manufacturing/chemical difference is (aka how they are made ) But BRI labels the paint for landscape painting and the medium for floral. I have used both.. the medium seems like a thinner version of the LC Paint

Hey j could really use your help I'm so confused. I'm a beginner and wanted to do a painting with black gesso and Indian yellow and crimson like Bob Ross uses but when I let the gesso dry and applied the other paint it just sat right on top of the gesso and I didn't need the white like Ross shows the color popping up when he applied it. Why does my paint already clearly show? Wish I could send you a pic so you could see what happened :( so frustrated
@WildCreates11 ай бұрын
Thats because some paints and opaque, transparent and semi-transparent. You have to use the right paint for the right effect. This video might help you understand a little more: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYfdaIqporqmp7c

Have one more on the subject of bases. I black gessoed a canvas... the oil part of the painting did not begin like this cowboy thought it should so I srcaped it down, causing the gesso to get a might thin. I know you do not do gesso over oil so I put a layer of liquid black over (going to take longer to dry, for sure) but MY QUESTION is, will the layer of liquid black cause cracking or other issues when the whole painting dries over time? I remember some blah blah about fat over lean or lean against a fat man or something like that?!?!
@WildCreates3 жыл бұрын
Hard to say because there are too many variables I might not know about BUT I think you will be 100% OK. If you are worried about the process you took. You could always clean your canvas then do a thinner wash, wait a few hours or a day or two. Then re-wet your canvas up... and you will be good to go. I kind of show that process in one of my newer videos. Check it out for more of a visual: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ64d3WXptyApbc Hope that helps

Wild, would Liquid Clear be a good additive to my paints... I have noticed my paints are coming out overly stiff... almost to the point that it is difficult to mix the paint on the brush and I almost cannot get them to stick to my canvas. I don't know if I failed to shake, massage the tube properly when new and now most of the oils are gone leaving me with an overly thick paint. Thanks for the videos. Have been a great help.
@WildCreates3 жыл бұрын
100% especially if you already own it. If you had a few extra dollars to spend I would recommend another medium over LC ( something like walnut oil or liqun, both these are more versitile but take some practice to get use too) But LC that will work in a pinch for sure. Which paint brand are you using... maybe your oil tubes were not sealed right and hardened a little.
@magnoliapondsmaxtaylor14883 жыл бұрын
@@WildCreates I have been using Bob Ross brand. I notice you like Gamblin 1980. Bill Alexander only offers 37mil tubes which will not last me a week.
@WildCreates3 жыл бұрын
I have been enjoying the 1980 Series, and I do give it a strong Thumbs UP. They make 150 ml tubes I think for all there colors. I have a link in the video that leads you to the bigger tubes, but I also attached it below if you need it. geni.us/Gamblin1980OilPaints

First attempted painting was a complete failure as expected. I think I used too much linseed oil, how can I tell? It looked as if I didn't put enough gesso but I did four coats. now I'm wondering if I just didn't use enough paint on my brush.
@WildCreates3 жыл бұрын
Its hard to judge from a message because there are too make variables. But from my own experience in the beginning, you are most likely using too much linseed oil ( which makes your paint too loose ). You are most likely not using enough paint but also not working off the excess color. Its also best to re-paint the same thing your just did. You will learn so much this way.
