Is there a default way to trigger the Looper on the Push, that I'm am just missing?

I use the User mode and midi-map a few pads to the Looper controls. I prefer your way though.

Did you try a foot pedal attached to your push 3 for trigger recording with the Looper?

@@chr1st0h1 I did try this and unfortunately it doesn’t work. The pedal will just record an audio clip in the selected slot. I am hoping to find a solution for setting the project tempo off an initial loop, but I don’t think it is currently possible.

so many people loop with this thing and have like a completely weird template they let you download. this is very very damn awesome the way you set it up. makes me mad lol. i love the looper and playing/layering guitar into it. but man this really is amazin here. thanks for this. been using push 2 since about 2016. ordered the push 3 about 15 minutes ago!!!...thanks for this video. i am gonna set this up right now in ableton and mess with it.

Great vid! Have a question. Im new to ableton, but not looping. If I use this setup, how to I move the loops so that I can arrange them into a set? In other words, I want to loop, but also have the ability to build and launch clips with the recorded loops.

in Ableton software you can just drag the audio from the looper into the session. Unfortunately, i don't think that this is possible directly on the Push 3 hardware

It is also possible with the push, but it is not as easy than with the computer. You can't do it with duplicate, you have to record every clip and the shit with the automation is that the automation only starts if you change something and the automation don't start if you change before recording so you have to change the status during recording the clip. If you want to have an automation on your clip the button automation has to be red before you start the record. If the record starts you can change the status to the value you wish. And after recording all clips you have to shorten the loop, so that you dont have the start value of the automation. Unfortunately I have not found a way to start an automation without changing a value. I think that it is not possible with the push. But it is not the big problem I think. You can do it with the computer one time and than save it as template. If you only have a standalone version and no computer and you need it. You can do it one time with more effort and than save it as template, so it also works.

Hi Martin, this is about 8 months later, I had the same discovery when I first bought push 3, that it was not integrated very well at all , i did try some midi mapping with varied success and ended up selling it. some time has passed now and i was messing with it today, and i seemed to be able to trigger the record/overdub, using the encoder but still was a bit spotty... any idea if Ableton has worked on this integration? Thanks for your work!!

Nah, hasn't been much development in the integration yet. Think it's mainly been bug squashing lately

You just use capture for a loop in drums first and then start live looping audio. Using record and a foot pedal. No looper needed.
