Hi Martin, this is about 8 months later, I had the same discovery when I first bought push 3, that it was not integrated very well at all , i did try some midi mapping with varied success and ended up selling it. some time has passed now and i was messing with it today, and i seemed to be able to trigger the record/overdub, using the encoder but still was a bit spotty... any idea if Ableton has worked on this integration? Thanks for your work!!
@MartinYamMoller

Nah, hasn't been much development in the integration yet. Think it's mainly been bug squashing lately

Thank you very much for your work, are these original samples/tracks?
@MartinYamMoller
@MartinYamMoller 16 күн бұрын
Glad you like it👍... It's about half from Splice (using their COSO app) and half stuff I've done in Ableton/Reaper/iOS apps etc. Whether it's original? Well, that's a good question. If I write a song on acoustic guitar, is that original? I think the method of production is pretty unique... Haven't seen any musicians or DJ's make music like this... But maybe I'm just deluding myself? I dunno really. But i do know it gets me in a meditative state 😉
@flyingscarf5863
@flyingscarf5863 16 күн бұрын
@@MartinYamMoller Sorry I'f you misunderstood my question, when I asked if this was "original" it's as in "original composition", if you composed/made your samples/tracks. Thanks for your answer, keep the good ambiances!
@MartinYamMoller
@MartinYamMoller 16 күн бұрын
Well, then I guess that I composed all the tracks from samples which I either selected from a library &re-recorded or recorded directly myself. Does that provide an answer?

Awesome setup! Would LOVE a video going over your Battery setup for this case! How long it lasts, how accessible it may be to accomplish for somebody like myself to attempt to put together!
@MartinYamMoller
@MartinYamMoller 18 күн бұрын
Haven't tested how long the battery would last. I tend to use it in 15-30min bursts, record the results and then charge. If you can change a guitar pickup, i think you could probably do this setup. I have done 2 of these cases now, and i gotta say the first one was pretty stable and the 2nd isn't. Dunno why, but i think it might be because the 2nd case has a Euroburo Zoia in it, which is quite demanding of power.

This is far to complicated lol. I downloaded the supermassive. But don’t know what or how to find it or use it. I click on it but it keeps taking me back to the installer page, even though it’s already installed
@MartinYamMoller
@MartinYamMoller Ай бұрын
Yeah, this video is a really advanced, and kinda silly, technique to use a VST plugin. It would be like trying to open the Word program in Word itself. WIth regards to your problem. If you've double clicked the Supermassive installer, then it's been installed. BUT ... VST's can only actually be used in VST hosts. Such as Cubase, Ableton or FLStudio. A good semi-free one to try out is Reaper, which I often use and it can do a lot. I also hear that Waveform Free by Tracktion is pretty good.

Mark is awesome. I met him years ago while he was playing a gig in Madison, WI on just a 909, an mmt-8, an S-760 and a mackie 1202, maybe a pedal or two, and that's it, and his set was KILLER! Smart guy, and very personable. Killer musician as well. Having met him a few times, I can confirm what Mark said about Don Buchla. However, he was also an INCREDIBLE problem solver. A few times, I had a problem I couldn't work out, and I would present it to him, and immediately, his eyes would light up, and usually within seconds, he'd have a solution that was elegant, functional, and efficient, and he would do it almost instantly. He'd present the answer almost off-hand like it was common knowledge, not in an arrogant way, but just that the issue was solved with such ease for him that it seemed like maybe many other people had arrived at the same solution, but in fact, they hadn't. I don't know if he fully grasped his own genius. Now admittedly, he was not always easy to talk to, for most folks, but I never had a problem talking with him, and he was really good about accepting my invitations to musical events. He was down to check stuff out. And as such, he is truly missed.
