I kept searching for and watching various youtube videos on material blending. Most deal with vertice painting and blending that way. This was very clear and to the point. The last part where you spoke about the blending of two materials was exactly what I needed. I was using the blendmateriallayer node which was NOT working.

Excellent! Is there a way to scale down the mask to only reveal one masked shape, such as to create a single inlay on a wooden floor?
