Great question - it is one we get asked from time to time! As well as switching the screens it would require the control unit to be changed plus some different wiring too. Theoretically possible but it would be rather expensive!

Question here: when I change the gauge cluster theme to “understated” the infotainment screen turns to blank and only gives me a back button on the top left corner. If I press that button on the infotainment screen or press the back button that locates at the left side of the steering wheel, the gauge cluster will automatically switch to its default theme. In other words, I have no functions to adjust in understated theme. Is that how it should be?

That's right - Understated is the stripped back display designed to give only essential information. I quite like having this theme set when driving at night.

Hi, does MBUX have the facility to connect wirelessly to CarPlay? or does it still require a cable?

MBUX requires a wired connection for CarPlay and Android Auto. This is done by the USB-C port in the centre console - with the wired connection audio quality is improved and your device won't run out of charge through screen mirroring.

Without the navi, is there a compass feature that tells you which direction you’re heading?

There is - on the navigation menu there are three stacked icons on the left hand side. Hit the top icon and the compass will be displayed on screen.
