Hello! In your video, you used the sentences "If you are joining us, I want you to say what's up." and "If you have seen the video about conditionals, please check them out.". These sentences do not follow conditional rules nor the mixed conditional rules. What is this then? Thanks!

Dear Sir, thank you for your willing to open a new level of understanding mixed conditionals. What I also appreciate is the simple form of describing the situation, mostly in separate sentences, a good news for beginners to talk theyr ideas out. at their level. The twist has arrived almost forgetting grammar and focusing on the situation instead.All that if we want to reword the two simple sentences in on subordinate sentence reflecting the two situations and result occuring in two different times. Keep walking, Paul.67, retired teacher of technical English.

Hi thanks for the conditionals. Can you tell us which conditional is a subtle way of putting forward an argument and which one is used to hit an argument. Thank you.
@InteractiveEng
@InteractiveEng 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment Eugene. That's a great question. I don't think there is just one answer, as there would be many ways to put forward an argument. However, I think some conditionals could drive home points. For example, the zero conditional is used to talk about true statements, statistics, and facts. If trying to paint a picture for your argument, people may talk about hypothetical situations and use the 2nd conditional. So there are many ways in which these sentences can be used. 😃👍

Mixed Conditionals number three and number four are a bit confusing and challenging to understand. After three or four times rewatching your video over and over, I finally have gotten them. I think we all have Conditionals in our native language. What I want to say is that we all use those Conditionals in our native language, in our everyday daily conversation but we do not pay attention to them while using them. English is not our native language that's why some grammar rules and some mixed Conditionals don't come to us naturally. It makes us think and think again and again. If English had been our native language, we would not stuck in it using Mixed Conditionals. I hope this is true. Why we can use all conditionals Mixed or non mixed ones in our native language but can not use in English. The answer is simple because English is not our native language. Anyway thank you very much for explaining Mixed Conditionals. You make it simple and clear. Keep up the great work!

Very methodically n clearly explained....you have covered 4 conditions, and other 3 conditions are explained under the topic 1st, 2 nd, 3 rd conditional..so only two are left which no one mentions... I.e present condition and future result and vice versa If this gets covered among above topics only, even then do mention them with examples..

very well done and clear...one question though, I noticed (but I might be wrong) that sometimes native speakers uses the simple past ( If I didn't do the course last year..) not for a present situation but for the past, so in theory it should have been (if I had not done the course)....why does it happen so, is it a mistake? or is a shorter and lighter form but acceptable? I'm italian and we actually use do the same: se non ''avessi fatto'' il corso.. (that's the perfect form that corresponds to had done)...but we often use : se non ''facevo'' il corso (that's corresponds to did)...and actually it is very strange as sometimes it feels right to use the lighter version, but sometimes it is not and you have to use your own personal sensitivity to use the 'lighter' version just when it feels acceptable....is this something that happens also in English?...thank you!

I am here to continue. It was a good advice not to look at the grammar - the 4th mixed conditional could imply to some other meaning well.

Hello. Thanks for the lesson. Here's my homework. Even if I had learned English perfectly before, I'd still stay with you, because your classes are interesting and more advanced. If I didn't have a laptop, I would at least have bought a tablet. If my son wasn't going to fly with me to Madrid, I would have invited one of my friends.
