How to use NCH Debut Video Capture

THIS IS THE BEST FREE SOFTWARE OUT THERE.
When you record as "Fast Capture", every minute recorded is about 1GB. KEEP THIS IN MIND. If you ignore this, it can bloat your HDD. We don't want that. If you like to record for long periods of time and forget you record, SET THE LIMIT.

I want to record videos (Roblox) without having the file size so big. I recorded for 1 hour and it was 32 gigabytes. Any idea on how I can compress the file size? My partner uses OBS and his files are tiny which is what I want. He now can’t edit the video recording because it was so big. Pls any help is needed.

When I press '' record'' I get the message '' no valid webcam was found'' even though under '' options'' I set '' Capture Device for Dazzle 100. ( I did not check web cam ) But, when I go back to the '' options'' tab the Capture Device that I checked is again not checked. ( only screen capture is checked) So in other words my options do not stay where I checked them? Also, I do not get audio from my VCR tape through my PC speakers even though the audio-level bar is indicating it '' sees '' the audio and the VCR video is showing on the Debut screen.

Bob Doe if uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work, if webcam is selected and it deselected it, try contacting the company about that. It could be the webcam but I'm not 100% sure. Try fiddling with the webcam settings in debut, and fiddling with the settings in the program that uses Dazzle. Like how YouCam has its own program settings, dazzle should have something like that. Or uninstall and reinstall the webcam. But only as a last resort. That's a unique problem I honestly don't have a fix for.

I've tried several different free screen recorder/capture software, such as Screenpresso, Webinaria and most recently, OBS. They all have similar problems. Terrible lag and hard to figure out. Tutorials for OBS talked about changing the encoder settings for removing lag, but I couldn't even find encoder settings. So I gave up. I used this Debut Screen Capture last night to record my desktop as I showed how to use some software that I have. It definitely had the best results. Except, for some reason it didn't show my mouse pointer on the screen. It was invisible. So I couldn't see the things I was pointing at and talking about. But aside from that, I'll probably never bother with those other screen recorders again.

OBS looks like it's probably very good. But it's damn near impossible to figure out how to use it, even for the simplest of tasks. Horribly configured. Nothing at all common sense or intuitive about it.

Green Rusty try recording full screen. It did that to me when I was trying to record fallout footage. If it doesn't work, reinstall the software.

One of the problems with NCH's Debut for Apple, is that it will NOT record the audio from your internal mic in your computer. Per NCH Support: "Apple does not allow for the MacOS to record audio from the computer. This is done to comply with some copyright protection rules and as an Apple internal policy. Sadly, Debut cannot bypass that limitation and this is the reason why you can only record what your computer's mic picks up or if you have an input device feeding your computer." To get around this, if I need to record audio, I use Filmora (free download), a Chinese product and part of the total editor. Filmora will attenuate the audio some after the first 5 seconds or so, but it will be there!. I then, have to use NCH's Prizm software to convert Filmora's mp4 file to an "avi" format before importing the file into Video Pad. I wish I had known this all before I purchased Debut.

PugLover #PUGS Go to options, click the audio tab, select source and select speakers. Then let it install the software. Restart and should work.

PugLover #PUGS Try your sound mixer. Right click the volume icon (bottom right corner) click volume mixer. Then alter your sounds. Or try it in the sound menu in Debut. Options>audio and see if there's a volume mixer in that menu. Otherwise it could be the volume in the window or game. See if you can make the game louder. If none works, I honestly have no clue. Usually it's one of these solutions that loudens or quiets the audio.

Shinku The5thRozenMaiden Try fast capture and set it to record at 30 FPS if you have it set at 60. If it doesn't work, try .avi. If it fails, you could just try and reinstall it. Uninstall, reset, reinstall, install the speaker audio program (options, audio, click speakers) and reset the final time. I had this issue once. This seemed to help my issue. If it doesn't, I'd suggest contacting the NCH support team. They know their program inside and out.

You can also try recording your entire screen if you're using the window selected method. Or use select a size. That may solve your problem too.
