I like Norton. Side Note: My Norton 360 was set to expire March 1, 2024 and the company wanted ~$120 for 1 year/5 user renewal. I brought a new Norton 360 1 year/3 user (I only use 3 licenses) for $19 on Amazon.

One area you could deep dive into for Norton is their backup facilities. I have it turned on but find it very confusing. I have Norton cloud backup (2 GIG) but am not sure if it is also using Norton Backup Drive as well or if they interrelate. It keeps telling me I am running out of cloud storage but I assumed it would let me delete my oldest backups or have parameters to set up so it will do it for me. I have found where to delete Backup Sets OR Sets and Files but am not sure what that does. Where can I see all my backed up sets/files by name and dates. Some sites say you need multiple sets in Norton in order to delete any of them. Totally confusing. So simply: How much space are my current backups taking? How many "SETS" and copies of the same files do I have? How much cloud space do I have left? Finally how to free up cloud space by deleting old versions myself. It seems Norton makes this tough because more cloud space means more money!

I have Norton 360 with Lifelock. BUT... I had to pay extra for the tools, driver updates and will need to pay even more should I want protection from the dark web or sites tracking me. Why? IDK. But this is my question; when I use their VPN, it says I'm using a "public network" vs using my network which is private. Why is Norton's PN public? Also, when using Norton VPN, and I look at the "view all available networks " it shows the VPN as the only connection with Internet access, with my network showing "no internet access". This messes me up at times because I must first be online to turn on Norton VPN, and there are times that my network shows "connected, without internet access." I think it has something to do with the VPN on Norton, and I haven't been able to get an answer from Norton. Would you have any suggestions for me? Thanks.

Well for one stop buying their crap the base package is enough for protection. The vpn software has bugs that will sometimes cut the Internet if the software doesn’t connect correctly. Just turn the vpn off it this happens, it will usually work again on restart if you want to use it. vpn are shared networks this just means it’s multiple people using the same “computer” so it’s hard to track one person.but the information isn’t shared with anyone else just norton, I also noticed Norton is using amazon servers. The vpn hides your information from your internet service provider you use. Just be smart don’t go on sketchy web sites your will be fine. Oh and if you have the Norton web extension it will keep you off fake sites, so you won’t end up putting your passwords into sites that will sell it on the dark web.

I’ve been with Norton for decades… I have the 10pc plan and love it. The only issue I have is with VPN. I was having trouble with some Webb pages not loading. Even O’Rielly auto parts (national company). I don’t have time to fool around…so I turned VPN off… no issues since. Any ideas how to fix this ??

Me too. Same boat. VPN doesn’t even work on most of my devices. Plan is up to $300/year. And then they get caught crypto mining folks. No instructions on how to use/setup. Can’t figure out their cloud. You can check KZbin videos, but every other person has THEIR way of doing and it’s all different a little. And, god forbid, you have to invoke the lifelock feature to restore your identity. I can just see them saying, “nope you didn’t have THAT part of the protection,” or you opted out of that part. Now, they want me to add, for $50 more, the deluxe utilities portion to clean and tune things. Sorry. I’ll stop. I really just wanted to ask how much you pay. If you’ve read this far, perhaps you agree with my take?!?

First Thanks for the basic Tutorial, but I need help with setting up the VPN. I purchased Norton with the VPN upgrade Package, so I don't understand how to use the VPN, I imagen I need to have the VPN on both sides, on the home computer and on the remote computer, but how to I establish a VPN connection or tunnel between my two computers? AND second, NORTON has been very annoying with SCARE Tactics Pop-Ups, about extended features I do not need and to Renew with a auto-renewal subscription (which I do not want, I want to renew when I want to renew NOT in automatic !!!) how do I remove these Pop-Ups ????

Hello, why after I installed and did a full scan, the norton said that i have no risks or anything but I'm not sure does that also mean it checked for the virus yet? I did through the chat and they said that my device is protected but I'm still having the same message on my online account saying the opposite, my understanding is that Norton is installed on my laptop, but not that my laptop is protected, I can't see which is the other device that is "protected". Whoever I called to another "Norton" (a number that I found online 😂 I guess is scam) because the phone number that Norton provides is -off line- the line is dead-, and then through the Chat Norton provided to me aaaanooother phone number. Having a problem in my Norton 360, when I try to turn it on my Norton 360 VPN its blocking the internet and I don't have any access on the internet but if I turn it off the Norton 360 the internet comeback for some reason. Hey! If you see a page from Norton with "Malicious website blocked!" on your browser, at the bottom, you should see an option: "I want to visit the site anyway" or "Continue to the site". However, I would highly recommend double-checking if the website you would like to enter is indeed safe to use.

Bought Norton 360, because Kaspersky is Russian and with everything with US/UA going on, however also being in the U.S and Russia is an adversary to the U.S, for security purposes I am either going with Norton or ESET. Plus I am American and Norton is based in the U.S.

I legit was surfing YT to find something like this! Well it’s exactly what just happened to me. I have picture proof what the difference was before buying…. Then I buy it do a scan and then it says oh this and that that needs fixing and oh I can’t do it now because I need to pay $60 more to be able to do 4 out of the 5 things it suggests! Great video but you have to realize that we can't see where you are when you say HERE and click on something! I'm sure YOU can see your cursor or arrow or whatever but yourhave to POINT to where you are with a pencil or other pointer. Your video especially in KZbin is only a small portion of my screen you your cursor is virtually impossible to see or catch if you go too quickly. Don't just talk to us - SHOW us!

You can go to the Settings tab. Locate the “Notifications” option there and click on it. This will open a list of Norton notifications that can be enabled or disabled. Locate the “Pop-up Notifications” option there and uncheck the box next to it. This should disable all Norton pop-ups.

Put over 2,000 viruses on the system and run a script that will try to execute those viruses simultaneously. Then you can see how many Norton will block and how many will start. After that, perform second opinion scans to ensure the results are correct. Then, you can calculate the blocked viruses' percentage rate. putting only 10 random viruses on your system and seeing how quickly Norton detects them is a joke. It only proves that it works, but you can verify its functionality more easily with the EICAR test code or file. Your video is just your opinion and a useless test that proves nothing.

Norton is self more a trojaner than blocking trojaners. Conflict problems with photoshop, upload and download problems, internet speed slow down, you cant change any settings at firewall anymore, Tor does not work and so on. Oh and you have to pay 100€ for that Trash. So best you can do is not use Norton.
