That's what i heard is that in the cases of big cyber attacks like wanna cry kaspersky detected the NSA's spyware as the cause. In other words the very government that was telling us how all these russians were cyber attacking us were the ones actually doing the cyber attacking.

Stop saying "It's banned". It's not banned. It's only banned in the US, and only in Sept/Oct. And even though it is going to be banned in the US, US customers can still continue to use it and get updates for it if they want to.

Thanks Brian for the video. Not because of Kaspersky but because of the program Everything. I have used Revo Uninstaller since it came out,and I use it for uninstalling all programs. I agree to using uninstaller tools for antivirus programs, and I use those if it's made for the AV program. I have never used Everything, but that program will be installed now. And maybe the ownership shotcut as well. It's a nice feature to resolve problems when removing files and folders.

@15:03 - 1. To remove the Kaspersky Event Log.evtx I had to go into the registry and delete the associated key and subkeys. I found it in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog. 2. I then checked the Event view tool and the entry for Kaspersky was no longer there. 3. I then had to go while in safe mode and stop the Event log service using the task manager services tab. I then was able to delete the file.

In the USA, Windows PCs and laptops came with McAfee Antivirus or Kasperksy Antivirus. I don't care for those and would uninstall it and chose an antivirus of my choice. You can also uninstall using the Windows Settings App. The old Control Panel Add/Remove doesn't remove everything

One important thing you haven't mentioned are the passwords. I have one password for My Kaspersky and 28 other passwords within it. Does Kaspersky in Russia have a database storing all of our passwords? If they do, then I will have to come up with 29 new passwords. So far, there has been no mention at all in Canada about this issue.

What I found when uninstalling many programs is that although it uninstalls everything the empty folder still remain on the PC. What I do is delete the folder that are left behind as well, they take up no space on the drive but I just don't want anything of the program I uninstalled on the PC and that includes empty folders.

I've used kaspersky for years and have a current licence. I have even pre-bought a license to use for 2025-2026. I'm in the UK. I suppose I'll have to remove it if forced to. I have to say the VPN is poor and even though my license cover the VPN I have Nord installed for the faster connection speeds. The password keeper is also buggy, but the antivirus has proved to be the best for me over the years.

How is it legal for a company to just auto install a program with ZERO asking. I've seen a lot of crazy crap on computers this was surreal! I want my Kaspersky because it's a great product! I'm trying Bitdefender internet security 30 day trial. Even though I'm not in the U.S. I'll try something different. I think Kaspersky will still be able to run, it just won't have updates, won't scan properly and won't help your pc stay protected. Just like if you still use Windows 7 or XP you can run it, but you won't be protected, that's probably what's happening that's what it sounds like.

I use Kaspersky and if we follow the US and ban it, I've got Acronis images of my OS drive with no internet security on it at all. So I'd just use one of my Acronis images knowing there's not even a trace of Kaspersky anywhere near it. It's the only way to be 100% sure that my system would be 100% Kaspersky free if I wanted it that way. Then I'd install whatever I decided to use to replace it.
