Suggest using the schwabish hitch to the people saying it gets too tight. There are several friction hitches that bight very well without requiring any extra steps to move them after taking the load off. I can’t remember the one I use but it won’t work with a continuous loop so I had to make dog bones or wishbones.. whichever. But they never get too tight but don’t slip either.
@hangfreeco Жыл бұрын
The H.F.A.S. is in fact a Schwabisch Hitch for the 1/8 and 3/16 configurations. The 1/4 H.F.A.S. is a Three Wrap Prusik as the size of the main line and Prusik don't necessitate anything more. Not completely sure what you are saying but hope this clears things up if you were, in fact, asking a question. Have a great day!
@bobamerican755 Жыл бұрын
Just ordered a few of the HFASL, how frequently should these be replaced?
@hangfreeco Жыл бұрын
The main line will last longer than the prusik. That being said, there are lots of variables that can shorten or lengthen the life of your prusik. At the very least it should last a season at THE VERY LEAST assuming there isn't some sort of abrasion happening. Generally speaking, if you see any sort of fraying with the amsteel, change out the prusiks.

Glad you love em! The feedback we have got from our customers has been incredible. Every single customer has said they have recommended the HFAS to one of their buddies. If you pan on leaving the hang on on the tree for longer than a sit or two, go with the 1/4 HFAS. It’s perfect for that.

Could the 3/16 full bury be used as a tether or linemans? Obviously WITHOUT a mechanical tender.
@hangfreeco Жыл бұрын
Good question, we get asked this a lot. All of our products are tested for very specific purposes and we maintain very specific standards for those purposes. The H.F.A.S. was created for sticks, stands, and platforms and we test all of the H.F.A.S. variations to standards that are we maintain for that purpose. Long story short, we cannot recommend using the H.F.A.S. as anything other than a stick, stand, or platform attachment.
@jerbyng Жыл бұрын
Gotcha. Just saw your amsteel and lineman’s on the website…so that answers my bigger question. Why do you think more people don’t use amsteel in those applications?
@hangfreeco Жыл бұрын
@@jerbyng Amsteel bites really hard so if you aren't experienced with prusiks and hitches you will most likely struggle to use them as a tether and lineman's,, at least at first. Amsteel also isn't great for shock loads which scares a lot of people away. The reality is you can't fall far enough with a lineman's or tether to put enough force on the amsteel to break it (plus at minimum we are using 3/16 amsteel for the main line which is already ridiculously strong as is). The longest tether length we sell is around 8 feet so its physically impossible for a fall to occur further than a couple feet. Amsteel makes for a great tether and lineman's, you just have to know and be proficient with rope handling and prusik manipulation.

Genuine observations and questions: How is this attachment method mechanically/physically different than using a traditional cam buckle & strap? Both attachment methods go around the tree, loop over the versa button, and pull tight. Both can be lengthened/shortened with one hand. It seems the traditional cam buckle mechanism is just replaced with a prusik knot setup. Other then a tiny weight savings, what is the main advantage of your system over the tried and true strap setup? Metal (cam buckle) on metal (stick) sound deadoning can easily be mitigated as well.
@hangfreeco10 күн бұрын
we appreciate the question and it is a fair one. The H.F.A.S. is faster, lighter, and quieter. We can sit here and debate those things all day but honestly, just go take a look at our reviews and you can see what our customers have to say instead of us. We are biased, customers that spent their hard earned money with us are not. If you had any other questions, give us a call and we'd be happy to answer them!

Can you show us how to attach the one inch molle clips? They are hard to get on my saddle... Looking for a vid of how to put them on easier. Ty
@hangfreeco Жыл бұрын
The 1 inch molle clips are just tough to put on the webbing in general unfortunately. They work great and are incredibly affordable, they are just tough to get on. Generally speaking though, you'd much rather have them be really tight than a little loose. We apologize for not being able to provide a "better method".

I got one of these for my platform, broke the little plastic tender the first time I tested it out. Ive used it for one 5 hour hunt. Once I got the stand set, it didnt budge the rest of the hunt. Id recommend it to a friend. However I will be figuring out a beefier tender
@hangfreeco Жыл бұрын
Email us and we will get you a new D-Ring. If the D ring broke it could possible be a faulty D-Ring or improper use. The H.F.A.S. doesn't need to be cinched tight all the way like other attachment methods before camming down. Contact us and we will get you taken care of.

@hangfreeco24 күн бұрын
Hey Tony, so for one, cam cleats for 4 sticks jumps the price up significantly. IF thats not an issue, by all means, go that route. You also have to modify most sticks on the market to put them on. Second, the hitch used on the H.F.A.S. is a schwabisch hitch. For sticks with a versa button, its by far the easiest method on the market.

If you cannot get the H.F.A.S. tight enough on a stick, or a platform, something is being done wrong in the set up. The only complaint ever lodged against the H.F.A.S. is it get TOO tight, not the opposite. If you would like to email or call us we would be happy to try and help you figure out whats going on.
