You use ready-made character generators. The smart way is to generate them in real time using one of the installed fonts on your computer! This way you will have more flexibility and a choice of different font designs.

@@AzharElectronics Oh that's awesome! I wonder if my LED p10s are compatible. Is this your product? I'd love to support you if it is. I've been having a hell of a time getting them to work. The vendor crytptically mentioned I might need a HUB12 card but I can only find bicycle parts when I search for that. I'd really rather have the fine control I can get from an arduino for this project. Thank you very much for the reply.

@@GrantWhoPlaysGames Yes the product is same as mine. There can be color of led difference. The HUB12 Card is programmable board for P10. Means that using HUB12 you do not need arduino. In order to use P10 with arduino you either need to use the shield which I used in the video. That shield was developed by Hallroad.org so it will not be available to you. The alternate way to do is do connections manually to arduino from P10 module. @@AzharElectronics I have tried connecting the arduino uno to the panel manually but still all I get is garbage. It won't even light up without 5v supplied to it, which I added using a switching power supply. Also I can't get any of the examples on your video or anywhere else on the web to work. They either don't work or they display garbage, and not even garbage on the whole screen which is actually what I'd like to do. I have ordered a Hub12 card from aliexpress but it will take forever to get here. I feel like I'm doing something very wrong if I can't get ANY of this code to run. I can't even make it just blank the whole panel and then turn on the whole panel. I have it currently wired up exactly like they have it in the circuit digest. I really appreciate all of your help. I've subscribed to your channel, love all the engineering stuff.
