Dr. Howard Schubiner is a professor of internal medicine at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He's been treating chronic pain patients for over two decades, during which time he has refined his medical approach based on breakthroughs in the neuroscience of pain. He’s authored more than 100 publications, including an NIH-funded study on fibromyalgia for the journal PAIN, and a brain-imaging study for chronic-back-pain patients published in JAMA Psychiatry. He is author of the book, Unlearn Your Pain.
Tamara Gurin developed CRPS in 2015. None of the treatments offered to her were helpful. By chance, she learned about Dr. Sarno and his method. After about 4 months of using Sarno's method she started seeing slow improvements; 2 years later she was completely symptom-free. Since then, she wrote a book about her successful recovery and created a website dedicated to the mind-body approach to CRPS, in partnership with Rita LaBarbera who also successfully recovered from CRPS. Proceeds from Tamara's book Defying The Verdict are used to support the website defeatcrps.com. Tamara and Rita can be reached through their website defeatcrps.com

Just want you to know I'm listening. I'm new to following Dr. Schubiner, have been able to listen to several other of talks and am currently working through his book, unlearn your pain. Thank you for all you are doing. I'm looking forward to watching the movie, and gaining as much info as I can to reach the day when I can say I'm also free from the pain I've endured for over 20 years.

actually everything is how much we believe. religious or not it is all about believing. that little small mustard seed.... that is the reason why those who dont believe di not get better. they may do the same methods the same exercise the same affirmation and so on BUT.... the desired results are not there. for someone -something so small as believing make miracles. and others cant belive that the resolution actually is so easy - which only looks easy. i sorry for that unbelieving people. i am taking this journey , Absolut believe in it and expecting to ger rid of all my pains over my body, lower back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, stomach pain ,trough lump , severe dizziness lately with fainting and losing vision during those times, hip pain knee pain , swelling fingers....did not go to doctors because i know that they will not find anything. any of this pain is not consistent - it comes and go after different periods. THANK YOU SO MUCH DR. SCHUBINER FOR BEEING SO BRAVE AND COURAGEOUS TO STAND AGAINST THE MAIN STREAM CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE AND HELP THE SUFFERING PEOPLE.

The workbook the patients use in the film is called Unlearn Your Pain. Another great book is Alan Gordon's The Way Out. ( There's a lot more free resources on our site at thismighthurtfilm.com/unlearningpain )
