I've listened to this video three times and can't thank you enough for how well you explain things. It's at the 12:00 minute mark that perfectly describes where I'm at in learning how to play the blues. I struggle to go from a minor pentatonic pattern into soloing. Your video is a tremendous help!

Hey Erich, I dig your Jam Tracks \o/ Especially that Reggae one. I love Reggae but never tried to play on guitar, so I did on your track and I loved it. I also love to break out that major minor concept giving some spice or simply produce some descant sound for a second just to break it down to a wonderful harmonic sound. You are so inspiring, thanks for that! Stay safe \o/

Super cool Erich! I remember similar practice music when I was young learning drums. They called it “MMO” or Music minus one. All the players but the drummer. Ha.

Thank you Erich.Just grappling with timing/accomodating the bars when transitioning.I reasonably understand the fundamentals of soloing and can solo with relative ease in swinging eights/syncopated groove.It's the rock/pop/country groove that I am grappling with (4/4; 2/4;3/4and 6/8 timing).Regards, Rajen

Just found you and I like your jam tracks. Very simple stuff for us beginners! Technically challenged over here so I'm trying to figure out what to play the tracks through? Audio amp, speakers? Don't want to put it through my guitar amp. Can't seem to find technical setup.

I’m used to the pent m and thanks to you I can actually find a grove in it not just going up and down the scale. Question though. Anyone who knows please put in your two cents: jam tracks with chord changes… do you stick with the root? Or go to the area on the fretboard where E is the corresponding note of the chord that being played and play the pent m shape there? And if so, do you focus on the note that’s being played on the track or the root? I’ve tried both but because of my lack of chops, everything ends up sounding not so great.

my question is when i try to jam along to all these jam tracks, some i can play beautifully, BUT some dont sound right at all i think maybe i need to tune in certain keys? depending on what key the track is recorded in?

Great video Erich.....the link only seemed to become active exactly at noon....not sure if that was by intent....prior to that it was marked private. Good stuff! Also...this didn't show up as a live vid...meaning no live chat was activated...not sure if it was supposed to be or not.

Every Major scale has a relative minor scale too. The key changes but the notes remain the same. So how to select the scale if key is known?
@neilmartin993 жыл бұрын
There is no one set rule. You can use either.

Would have been nice to see you play with the jam track visible as you play along with it. Just to give us a visual example . This seems very foreign without seeing how someone uses the tracks. At least for me.

This question is going to make all of your viewers laugh. I'm just learning so go easy on this old man. I see many YT instructors like yourself that provide jam tracks to practice the lesson they are trying to get across. What I want to know it what to do with it the track. Do I play it back on my computer or phone? Is it best to use some sort of device with a start/stop pedal or to play it through a device that has it's own amplification? Seems like using a computer to play it back would be a pain in the butt unless there's special software. I just don't know what to do. HELP
@yourguitarsage10 ай бұрын
It’s actually a very good question, my friend. This video will help explain some of that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqirnJaXba6Bndksi=pYSoEsXXLuNTSqNU Essentially, you play notes and phrases within the key that compliment, the chord progression. As with any sort of art, this is a concept that takes some investigating, development, and trial and error.

Maybe that’s possibly the filter that you have on life? Seeing as I have a bout 1100 free videos here on KZbin and I’ve given over $1 million worth of courses away, I’d say that your statement is inaccurate. Not that you will probably see your own folly.
