Thank you! I bought a machine exactly like this one, but made by Leawell, („ acu doctor“) and without the plus minus option. As you mentioned, the cable might break, as did mine, as it is made with poor quality wire. Also it has a contact plate on one side, so this makes it difficult if you are treating yourself and use the left hand to hold it. But in such a case, one can hold the cable contact rod. Apart from these small issues, it is an excellent machine. I paid around 50$ on amazon.

Can I use 9volt rechargeable batteries instead of Alkaline batteries

It should be fine. The low indicator light will light up if the charge is too low.

yes. It does not matter if you are holding the plate or not, if the Receiver is holding the rod

Please ask your patient to hold the grounding pole. Then you do not need to be touching the grounding plates on the unit
