How to Use Printable Heat Transfer Paper on Wood

Hi, thanks for the video. I want to print pictures on wood and sell them. I tried some methods like using mod podge but your method seems the best. It's fast and I like the look of the print. I live outside the US and we don't have much paper choices here. I found some transfer papers that are sublimation ink compatible and some that are laser printer compatible. And there ones advertised for garment only. I also don't have a color inkjet printer and heat press, I will buy one only for this purpose. Do you think the paper for sublimation ink will work on the inkjet printer? And the ones that are made for garment will also work for wood? I'm open to any suggestions, thank you

Thank you for this! This was working great for me, I made loads of coasters, but all of a sudden its not transferring fully. Am I over or under heating? When I peel to see if its worked, if it hasn't I apply more heat but it does nothing. I'm not sure if it's the wood maybe, but it's pretty smooth, or the paper? Although all same batches as my working ones. I'm using a mini easy press as I only need it for small items. Any help would be great, thanks!

it could be not enough heat or pressure or time. It's hard to say exactly if you're not using a heat press

Does this paper leave a film around it when ironed onto the wood? I have used t shirt paper before and it leaves a film around the image when ironed on. Thank you.

It sometimes can be slightly visible depending on the color of the shirt, how long it was pressed, and how quickly you peel it away.

Can you paint these wood coaster with white chalk paint and then put the heat transfers on them?

It's possible..but keep in mind, if paint is heated with a heat press it can get sticky again and make a mess.

When I use my heat press the wood warps a little then after cooling it goes back to normal. I do large pieces. Any help with this? Thanks

Printable heat transfer material. You put it in your printer and print on it. It's supposed to be used on textiles, but it works to apply to wood as well.
