This information is great, thank you! I do have a question though. Creating the estimate does not post anything to Sales, at least from what I can see. Is there a transaction that will do that? We want to be able to see the full picture of the full sale, and not just the portion that has been invoiced.

Estimates are non-posting (they don't affect the general ledger balance). You won't see the ALL the income until an invoice is created then you can run a Profit and Loss on an actual basis. If your looking for the full amount of estimates (not all your income) the Estimates & Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer may be helpful. I mention it in another video on Progress Invoicing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r56ndYh3mr5jbLcsi=GFoo79ONYNVBgxzG&t=24

Can you tell me why the total increases by the invoiced amount when converted?

I've never heard of that happening before. I'd suggest scheduling a meeting but my schedule is booked through January. Here are some other bookkeepers who can take a look and give you advice: littledetailsbookkeeping.com/ trueresourcebookkeeping.com/ www.quickbooksjeannie.com/

Silly question here. I have several clients with "converted" estimates. How do you close one out once it is paid off completely? I have been researching and all I find is to delete the estimate. It is very confusing to know which ones are closed and which ones are still open when they all read converted.

This is new since the invoice layout got updated. Here's a QB support forum post about it: quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/other-questions/closing-and-estimate/00/1438600 I suggest clicking the gear icon on the home screen, then Feedback under PROFILE and letting Intuit know how you feel about this change and what they could do to make it better.
