My 11yo son has been very interested in boxing for a few months not. Problem is where I’m from the few boxing gyms here charge an arm and a leg. So I’ve been training my son for the last 2-3months. I can’t even begin to tell you how much research I’ve done to make sure that I’m training him the correct way. I’ve probably watched hundreds of videos to help me help him. Like your vids man. I will be watching all of yours. Thanks man.

That's great bro. So you're not even a boxer and/or trainer yourself (or werent) but are learning just for him? At 11? Yep, Great. 🙂 Good Fathers are sooooo important, for the kids and future adults, society, everything. Alot of our messed up society probably won't give you any credit for it and be against you and Family at every turn even but, screw them, you deserve it and wee sure need more like you.

It is important to get them in a gym. Try to call around in the winter. Rates may be cheaper. A lot of big gyms are cash grabs. Look for small boxing clubs

I've never boxed but my daughter was put into a situation last week where 5 girls told her she was either fighting one girl or they were going to jump her. After seeing a video of the fight I realized she needs to learn to throw punches. These videos will help us out a lot. Thanks, and I subscribed.

Thanks brother, I use to do a lot of backyard "boxing" back as a preteen and teen with my buddies lol I'm 31 now and have always had a bag at the house. Thank you so much, fathers, for teaching your daughters to defend themselves, to have self-confidence, and for giving them the tools to move like they are not to be messed with. When I was growing up, there was too much emphasis on being "ladylike" and almost no way for girls to learn to defend themselves.

Just like Heathcliff, I’m trying to work with my kids to give them basic self defense techniques and conditioning. I learned the basic punches on a heavy bag but I can’t put one in my house so I want to use mitts, which I never done before. I was actually going to purchase coaching training videos and certification classes but this is basically what I needed. The basic punches 1-2-3 and the uppercuts can go a long way for basic self defense and conditioning. Thanks for the demonstration. Now it’s time to go to work!

Greta video man, i have a quick question tho. My trainer told me that when using mitts i should keep my elbows close to my body when using mitts so that i don't injure my elbows/shoulders. In this video you keep your elbows kinda far away from your body which looks like more of a Muay Thai guard instead of a boxing one. Do you think it's because he wants me to create a habit of a boxing guard since i'm transitioning from Muay Thai to Boxing? or there's just different ways to hold the mitts and you gotta use the one you're most comfortable with?
@dungeonboxingclub8 ай бұрын

Hey I have a dumb question but I’m supposed to punch the left pad with my right hand and punch the right pad with my left hand right?
@dungeonboxingclub4 жыл бұрын
Not a dumb question at all, there is no right or wrong way. The way I do it is if I raise my left hand, my fighter responds with a left jab. If I raise my right hand, my fighter responds with a straight right hand.
