BenQ makes great monitors. Guess one of the best in compare price-quality.
@HugosDesk6 жыл бұрын
Yes you are right. They have a great balance between the features and price. I think Eizo’s prices are a bit crazy.

Great technique mate! We forget how much can be done in 2D with a bit of brain activity!
@HugosDesk6 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right. People forget all the quick and dirty tricks from Comp sometimes. It’s not “physical correct” but who cares? If it let Ola good it’s good. Thanks for watching.

The result looks great! Given the time constraint you mentioned that was a very clever approach. If you had a UV pass do you think you would have been able to achieve the same effect without loading in the Alembic files?
@HugosDesk6 жыл бұрын
You are probably right. Need to try that. I always use the Geo because of placing 2D elements so I am pretty used to having the geo.

Great Hugo! Just out of curiosity, what hardware are you using? I've heard that i7's and i9's are now faster (more responsive on viewport, not rendering) than Xeons, because of faster single-thread performance, is that true?
@HugosDesk6 жыл бұрын
I actually have both. Got a Mac Pro 2013 with a 12 core Xeon, I have a Mac Pro 2011 with a dual 6 core Xeon, have 2 Mac Mini Servers with 4 core i7s. I always used Xeons on my career so I can’t tell you about the i7s. Sorry. Most companies use Xeon workstations.
@damascenoalisson6 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Judging by your hardware and the performance you get in your videos will surely help me to choose a CPU :-)
@HugosDesk6 жыл бұрын
Yes, normally most VFX companies and workstations use Xeons because of the long life durability and also because of large L Caches. And, of course, the advantage of being able to have dual CPUs. It is expensive but Xeon is server class CPUs so I would always recommend.
