I myself learned how to do it by following Eversolo's manual. But your tutorial is very good. It's a pity I didn't see it before. Thank you very much for the help. In the end I wasn't convinced by the sound obtained using the DSP with REW. But there are a lot of people who will be fine with it. Thanks

Hello, great video! I subscribed and Liked! I have a A8 on order for delivery in a few days. My question please? I have a MiniDSP 2x4 HD to take care of my three subwoofers. They are all time aligned and corrected. My Mains are crossed over at 80Hz. I currently use REW to view my room characteristics. I don't want the A8/REW EQ to touch below 50Hz. Still choose full, or Bass limited? Can you please advise best settings in REW for this to happen? I want to see the subs in the sweep, but not correct them, if this makes sense? Thanks, I appreciate it! Tom
@Hifihobby24 күн бұрын
Thanks for subscribing 👍🏼 To do what you are requesting above you can choose the bass limited option. Since you are having the MiniDSP , why not use the Dirac live instead and see which result you prefer ? Dirac not only adjusts from the frequency domain but time domain as well. Let me know how it goes
@Sandisc223 күн бұрын
@@Hifihobby Thanks for the reply! I don't have Dirac Live, it's not part of the miniDSP 2x4 HD. And, the miniDSP is only inputting and outputting the subs. I have an Anthem AVM 70 preamp/processor that does have "Genesis ARC" room correction, and I use this for movie watching with 7.3.6 speaker setup. But, for 2-ch stereo with subs I would like to try out the A8 with REW.
@mayankshah33215 ай бұрын
Fantastic video. Very well made. At Target settings - you selected full range speakers. Although I have proper 3 way speakers, I have dual subs (2.2 setup). So should I select Bass Limited speaker and set the cut off at around 40 or 50 Hz? The subs themseleves have room correction software (ARC). so I am doubly confused as to how to go about it.
@Hifihobby5 ай бұрын
Hi thanks for watching. There are few ways to do this, I’d suggest to run ARC on the subwoofers on their own then REW selecting full range and measure the speaker and subwoofer combined. Or same as above but without ARC on the subwoofer (so you skip one layer of processing). You can try both and see which you prefer.

Hello I use a power amp by xlr and a subwoofer by rca outputs. How can I calíbrate it separately? Thanks for the video
@Hifihobby24 күн бұрын
You can only have one FIR filter for both outputs simultaneously so you can’t calibrate for subwoofers and main speakers separately. What you can do is calibrate them together so when you run the frequency sweep it measures the mains and subwoofer together
@-dAtA-TRoN-2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the excellent tutorial! I do have one question though: how do you take these measurements when a subwoofer is involved, for example, in a 2.1 system? Best regards from Berlin, Germany.
@Hifihobby2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. You take the measurements with the subwoofer connected so it measures the speaker plus subwoofer for each side.
@-dAtA-TRoN-2 ай бұрын
@@Hifihobby Wow, thanks for the quick response 🙂! Are there no additional settings needed in REW for this? So, will the subwoofer be detected automatically and included in the measurements right away?
@Hifihobby2 ай бұрын
I presumed that you have connected the subwoofer and amplifier to the XLR or RCA output of the Eversolo A8. The FIR adjustment will adjusted for this output for your amplifier and subwoofer together
@Hifihobby2 ай бұрын
@-dAtA-TRoN- I saw your question which somehow disappeared when I tried to reply. If you want to use the correction in the A8 then you should use the amplifier in direct or just turn off the Audyssey room correction.
@Hifihobby2 ай бұрын
@@-dAtA-TRoN- The split out to the subwoofer will be done in the amplifier. From the Eversolo A8 will output only left and right channels.

Hello. Thanks for the great video. But I have a few questions. In the video you show how to connect the Eversolo A8 to the PC using a USB cable. This USB cable is a USB A to USB B cable. Eversolo itself states in the user manual that this connection should be made using an HDMI cable. Since the distance between my Eversolo A8 and my PC is about 12 meters, I would like to know which cable is more suitable? USB cables should not be longer than 5 meters. Thanks.
@Hifihobby2 ай бұрын
Hi thanks for watching my videos. The connections that I’ve highlighted in the video is for the REW calibration purposes. For playback, you can use USB or HDMI to connect between the Eversolo A8 and your PC. BTW 12M is a long connection, what source are you playing from the PC that’s not available built in the Eversolo?
@ras5642 ай бұрын
@@Hifihobby Hello and thank you for the quick reply. I'm not interested in playing back a source. I'm interested in establishing a 12 meter connection between Eversolo A8 and my PC in order to take the measurement via REW and then use REW to create the FIR filters and then send them from the PC to the Eversolo. In general, I have to connect the UMIK to the PC via USB and then use a second USB cable or an HDMI cable to send the sweep signal from the PC to the Eversolo via USB or HDMI. I can't take a measurement without the sweep signal, can I? Or am I misunderstanding something.
@Hifihobby2 ай бұрын
I understand now. Yes you will need to connect the PC to the Eversolo so you can output the sweep signal.
@ras5642 ай бұрын
@@Hifihobby Yes I know now. But which Cable is best? USB A to B or HDMI? Thanks
@Hifihobby2 ай бұрын
Both should work equally well. I’ve only tried using USB cable for REW tho
@StefanoMolteni-f1n2 ай бұрын
how is the best to correct 2.2 system?
@Hifihobby2 ай бұрын
One way is to use REW to measure the frequency response of the speakers to determine the crossover frequency of the subs. Then run REW for speakers plus subs turned on. Let’s us know how that goes
@garyw85302 ай бұрын
Can this be done when you have sub-woofers? Or would you have to add something like a MiniDSP 2x4 for the low end?
@Hifihobby2 ай бұрын
One way is to run REW with the subwoofers switched on so the adjustment is based on combined speaker and subwoofer output.

@conradtaggart995910 күн бұрын
@@Hifihobby Well it sort of can - you use a usb to c connector to connect your mic to the eversolo and add in some manual adjustments in the PEQ - no separate right and left speaker so just average the right and left or use a combined reading (run the left and right together during the tests)

Question , newbie. Eversolo dmp a8 update V1.3.80 . Facility room correction .How do I start,? Do I still need a computer or do I connect a USB microfoon to usb input on the Eversolo ? it is so easy on the Wiim pro.
@Hifihobby26 күн бұрын
With the new firmware 1.3.80 you can perform room correction without the computer. You will still need the calibrated microphone or use your phone microphone (which is a less accurate method). I am waiting for the software release for mine and will make a video and share how to do this. Stay tuned

@Hifihobby6 ай бұрын
As far as I know, you can connect the A6 to a computer using the USB-C and link up with the microphone and run REW but the filters can’t be imported to A6. You can use the PEQ settings in the A6 to adjust the equalizer manually

A6 doesn’t have the DSP chip the only way is for you to adjust PEQ manually to suit aka adjusting frequency/gain/PEQ to reduce the peaks and increase the dips that you measured.

well i think the big question is... was it worth it? is there an improve in sound?
@Hifihobby6 ай бұрын
Yes definitely so for a cost of ~$100. Most obvious benefit is control of bass modes, which in some rooms are very bad and require lots of huge bass traps to control. You can use it to tune the sound characteristics of your system (eg too bright or too warm) to however you prefer and the result is highly transparent.

Mic on the stand will never give you good results. You need to wave the mic around your ears, left then right, let the REW do around 200 measurements and then avg them. Only then you can get acceptable results.
@Hifihobby2 күн бұрын
Merry Christmas and thanks for your comment. You can repeat the measurements multiple times and get average readings but I guess for most people 200 times is too many, but do as many as you’re comfortable with. We never have our head in the exact same place when we listen to music (goal is to be bobbing or swaying to the music 😄).
