Thanks for the tips. Isn't the level of the liquid compound going to be higher than when it dries because of the curing process?

I never saw how compound expanded higher. It is should be the same level because in slc so many different polymers and it’s made concrete structures more pores. When moisture comes out no any changes. Thanks!

Sir, I came across your vids of ease and lots of vids of people failing. Your system makes sense: from types of mapei to tools used. I just bought a 12 pack and expect it to make my gym room job a breeze (up to as much as a 1.25” drop in under 2’ in some areas). In one of your vids you worked a 3rd floor condo and used a rubber strip (maybe 1/32-1/8” thick) and stapled it to the bottom of the wall before caulking it off. You answered 2 people in the comments saying there was a link in the description but there is not. There’s only a link to the paper. Like them, I would like to know the name of the rubber or thick plastic strip you stapled in place to keep the flow from reaching condos beneath your project. I’ve got the rest. Thanks again. FYI I considered the 3m tabs, but when I watched videos of them in use, they only got covered and did not confirm a level floor from above. Yours floats above and helps confirm a truly level floor very quickly. I applaud your creativity and problem solving...and your entrepreneurship. Best wishes to you in production and promotion. Hi Bruce, first of all, I am going to say "Thank you" for your warm commenting on my videos! I will send you tomorrow morning your order. Great investment! About this foam tape on the wall - it's called "Gasket - Sill Plate Gasket". This foam not especially for my type of job, it's used to seal the gap between the foundation and walls wood frame. But for leveling this foam very good, because - first of all, made an expansion gap between the wall and concrete subfloor and also seal the wall together with caulk. This is not my idea, I have seen, how in Germany guys install this foam, but they use this foam with sticky tape. Easy to install, but with staples, it's working too. This self level is only for interiors? What about for a back yard concrete slab where I need to level any material that you know thanks in advance

Try to use self leveling in summer time, because I did leveling in a garage in April, temperature was around 5-8 C, and SLC not dried two days, was soft and I used heater fan for finishing this project. This my experience.

I will purchase your 12 tripods. I love that it comes with free spike roller and spiked shoes. Can you tell me how big the spikes on the roller are? I will pour 1" deep so I need roller that has long spikes. Thank you sir.

How do you compensate for slope? I’m working in a fairly large room where there’s about a 6” difference in height between front door and kitchen island. I want the floor to be flat to receive LVP but if I leveled it all the way it would cover 6” or more of the kitchen island and cabinets and really alter the room completely. Not to mention the amount of leveler I would need to use : ). Any tips would be really appreciated.

If you need only flat, grind the humps and use straight edge. Tripods you can use, just need use rope from side to side. I have video how to use rope to set up tripods. And self leveling compound should be more thicker then for regular leveling. Thanks!

Question... New subscriber... and I rung the bell! You're content is amazing... I have hired a sub-contractor for self-leveling two bathroom floors on remodels (I'm a contractor), and both times it has been screwed up. Watching your videos I can see where they went wrong, and plan to do it myself from now on. I just ordered the 12 leveling tri-pods, love that it comes with spike roller and shoes! My current bath remodel will be 12 x 24 porcelain tile over Schluter Ditra. I can get Mapei Self-Leveler Plus at Lowe's, or Penetron Leveline 15 from a local flooring wholesaler. Both recommend metal lath over plywood, but I haven't seen you use metal lath in any of your videos. Is it really necessary? Or am I looking at the wrong product for what I'm doing... given that I notice you usually use Mapei Novaplan?

Hi Michael, first of all - I will send you parcel tomorrow by noon. Congratulations, now leveling for you will be more easy! About metal mesh, I not using it because with primer T, compound bonded with plywood very well. I f you put membrane on top it will be good enough. Very soon I will offer for my channel visitors membrane for tiles for floor and for the walls. For special price.Flooring membrane will be two ropes - uncoupling and peal and stick. Call to Mapei and they tell you where you can buy compound with reasonable price. About other brands I am not sure. Sorry.

Hi Hector, I used in a similar situation 36 to 48 tripods. Setup in one part of this area I poured compound, then from the covered self leveling compound area, I moved tripod to another side, set up tripods with laser, and repeat and repeat.

@@MrYoucandoityourself I don’t see your explanation. Can you just type it in your video description. Or just type it again here explaining why these tripods are necessary. Self leveling means that the cement levels itself. Why on earth do you need tripods? They don’t seem to serve any purpose.

@@villarte It doesn't level itself it's not magic, the more accurate term would be "self-smoothing", you need to spread it, sometimes one part ends up higher than another due to having more concentrated material as a result of bad spreading, this allows you to verify the heights are correct across the room without needing to wait for it to dry first so you can lay your spirit level on it

An easier way to transfer your laser. 1. Keep the laser in the first position. 2. Mark the wall where the laser touches in a position close to where you are transferring. 3. Move your laser and align its line with your mark on the wall. BINGO. Your laser will have been transferred to a new location that has line of sight around the corner to your 'dark' spots.
