Jason, you’re a class act and a gentleman. I’ve enjoyed a lot of your videos over the past several years. I’d fish with you any day.

Great video! How would your settings be in muddy/silty river water with current?? The same??
@JasonMitchellOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I start out the same and drop down the contrast until I get a good reading. Turbid water affects 2D sonar more than side imaging. Usually don’t have to adjust side imaging much unless the bottom is mucky or extremely shallow.

Ok so, somewhat experienced angler who is new to side imaging (just purchased a g3 Helix 7 with mega side and down imaging)...more experienced guys, help me out. I'm imagining how I'll use this tech this summer...my thinking is this....1st, identify key pieces of structure using the lake maps from the lake master chip, mark a way point and drive to them, side image to see what's actually going on, once I locate a school that is holding relatively tight to structure, loop back around and drift/trolling motor over the area and use down imaging to confirm there are fish still there, then loop around again and anchor, or drift slowly over the spot I've just down imaged and fish it....am I missing something or is that sort of the deal? Appreciate any insight!

Does running the finder to the fuse box drain more power than it would if it were connected directly to the battery?
@JasonMitchellOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
No the reason to run direct is to run cleaner power without interference.

I like your explanation of the electronics and other gear. This may sound like a silly question but, I’m looking for a new net, my old one has me constantly fighting to remove crank baits. What’s your favorite?

This is a great tutorial for someone getting started. Is the 12" hds a carbon? I have dual gen 3 9" at the console and am looking to upgrade 12" carbons so Im curious about picture quality.

When did side imaging come out? In otherwords, if I guy wanted to buy an older used unit which models offers side imaging?
@JasonMitchellOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
The Lowrance Elite Series and Lowrance HDS Series have side imaging. Not familiar with Hummingbird or Garmin.
