True dedication. Fishing from an ice covered deck. Glad you didn't fall in. Know you're happy to be on soft water again. Thanks for the side scan lesson.

Thanks for sharing. We moved last year and bought a good side scan Garmin. I’ve had trouble trying to figure out where to find fish. I never used side scan until this year. Helpful stuff

The scope mount looks great. Couldn't find it in the description
Dreaming of the day I can get out on 47° water back here in Wisconsin. Long lining works for me. It is nice to understand what the fish are doing with the side scan.

It will be nice to put the boat on some lakes once the ice melts.

Good morning I find your videos very informative, I am in the market for a live scope system from Garmin. I am just a casual fisherman and 66 years old so I would like a 10” screen. What system would you recommend a 1022,1042 or 106sv primarily just for live scope. Thanks for your help Clifford!
@FloppingCrappie2 жыл бұрын
If you're only using the screen for Livescope, I would recommend the 1022 bit.ly/3DecLzf . If you want mapping as well, get the 1042XSV bit.ly/3iFYGRD

So looking at the 1022 and 1042 do they both record on active captain and do they both use mapping I’m trying to the biggest bang for my buck. Thanks

@@cliffordgurley4882 the both record on active captain. Only the 1042XSV has mapping

Do you use perspective at all? Or just forward view for hunting open water?
@FloppingCrappie2 жыл бұрын
Mostly forward view. This year my goal is to get more comfortable with perspective mode during the spawn.

With those Crappie suspended 5-10 ft in 20+ foot water, can you still just press the touch screen to set a waypoint for where they are at, or does that suspension make the waypoint off from where they really are? Just got my 73SV in the mail today, can't wait to play with the Sidevue
@FloppingCrappie2 жыл бұрын
It does change the location slightly, but if you throw a waypoint on a school it will still get you within casting distance.

What are the lines on sidescan in the water column on the left side of the image? I have that on the right side of my image and can't figure it out.

I saw that you had a weight about 10" or so above your jig. Is that to get the jig down in the water column faster or to pick it up better on the live scope? Or both?
@FloppingCrappie2 жыл бұрын
It was used more for getting the jig down the crappie. These schools were on the move, so getting the jig down fast was the only way to get a bite.

Just jeep the lower unit trimmed down, in this case we left the boat in the water with the lower unit down. This helps prevent freezing.
