Wow - great idea to check the kick duration in order to derive the correct release time for the compressor. That actually transcends the context of Ableton and allows people to better perceive how to dial in hardware compression. Nice trick

This is a beautiful video man thank you! I was having trouble making it subtle and giving my 808s that breathing motion without suffocating them, and the auto release with the gain reduction coming IN from the kick is what did it for me. Great stuff thanks dude
@i.AmHymn9 ай бұрын
GREAT tut! 💯 💣 Also, use the filter section to fine-tune the overall frequency you want to emphasize on the kick and de-emphasize on the bass. 💣 Hymn

Quick question .. Should we eq kick ?? & Generally how much -db should instruments,kick and bass should be ? Thank you

Don't need to eq the kick if it sounds good. Use a reference track to match the kick and bass levels

I do create a sidechain track as you do. Lately, i did the same settings(audio in&audio to), but when I'm done with recording kick&bass to a audio channel from the midi track, I put off those midi tracks and change the audio to&audio in settings and continue with the audio track that kick&bass glued and recorded together. But when it comes to exporting the whole song, that sidechain track's sound becomes more distorted and has high volume when I select ''Master'' at audio to section. It kills all the effects that processed. If I don't select ''master'' as audio to, that audio track(kick&bass) are completely not exist when exported. Like i never used kick&bass in the whole song. I export the song but every individual track can be heard except that sounds that I sidechained, recorded on a different individual track. I hope that you understood my problem and I need help. Thank you for the video btw.

Do I need a separate base drum track? My drums are in a rack and I can't figure out how to just use the base drum 🤔
@2brownguys9822 жыл бұрын
You can duplicate the drum rack and then delete everything except for the kick and use that
@dominikpoignee92972 жыл бұрын
@@2brownguys982 normally yes. Didn't quite give the background. I have some random stuff creating the drums, so separating them out would only work if I pre-record it... But might be the only option.

must be unrelated, you can try noise removal plugins if you have some like Izotope RX

Why do you keep 6db on the knee?
@immersed.productions3 ай бұрын
that was the default setting I dont adjust that
@kizzpizz_skate18563 ай бұрын
@@immersed.productions set it at zero and you’ll find the sidechaining to be more responsive Sometimes the knee can lose the transient of the kick when sidechaining so the bass bleeds into the attack of the kick. I think maybe that’s more of a 4x4 beat thing to keep things tight
