Of course, Now Meta's requiring Orginizaiton verification, so it's going to get more complicated. I mean, it's not like I don't have Unity on this PC and couldn't make something if an idea struck. But having to make a whole business account to do what I can do on any android phone is why I waited until a few hours ago to bother despite having the Quest 2 for a few years now. Basically a matter of "eh, I use it once every few months and the battery is utterly shot, worst I could do is annoy Meta somehow, and they brick a headset that's fixing to brick itself".

I just went through the new verification requirements, it took 30sec. for them to verify my developer account. Just carefully read the submission requirements and you should be fine.

FYI - As of August 16, 2023, you have to verify your Oculus developer account with either business documents, or as an admin using a picture of your photo ID and wait for them to approve.

The first part is still ok as it will verify the developer account but it does also want you to verify the organisation if you want to publish apps as a developer. I haven't done the second part and I'm able to use SideQuest.

It keeps telling me to verify my account even tho I have already verified it with CC, PN, and 2 Step Authentication. The app on my phone doesnt have a toggle and just brings me to a web helper page on how to do it and tells me to go back to the same page that routed me to the one on how to get to the same page over again...

Hey there! It sounds like you may not have enabled permissions within your headset-at this stage, try putting your headset on and accepting the permission popups that appear. I have watched so many of these videos saying how simple this is to connect your Quest to your PC for Sidequest. Nothing is working, I have jumped through all the hoops, creating a new developer organization is not as easy as entering a name and two factor authentication.

Hi there, i went through all the steps and sidequest is officially downloaded and working however, my quest 2 is acting extremely glitchy, it is freezing, not opening apps, now not game sharing with my secondary account. I am unsure what is going on. Could someone tell me if they have experienced this, and how to fix this? Also what are the best headset settings to have when running sidequest on a quest 2?

Verification is different and very complicated now, it requires business adress, bank statements, postal code and my personal documents. I don't have all that except my personal documents, because I don't run a business. Do you have more modern tutorial that explains how to get through this? Or maybe I don't understand something and you can guide me to wherever I can use my credit card info for verification?

The only things you should need to create your developer account and activate developer mode is either 2-factor authentication or some credit card details. You shouldn't need personal docs or a business address or statement etc.

@@sidequestvr that's the problem, I don't see where I can access this options on the website. When I open "requirements/verification" tab from the menu on the left side of screen, site offers me to choose a verification option between business verification, which requires filling up a whole questionnaire about your business, admin verification, which requires passport or other form of government id, and quest for business private app verification, which requires god knows what else. Can you please specify, how do I get to a prompt that proposes me to verify by credit card or 2fa

Hi, make sure you have allowed USB de-bugging in your headset settings, also make sure you have turned developer mode on in the Oculus app (not just from the headset). Open the Oculus app on your phone. Go to the Devices tab on the bottom menu (the headset icon). On that page under the Headset settings, there is an option called Developer Mode.

Meta recently changed the name for Dev Mode to Debug Mode - if you have a Debug mode in your settings it will do the same thing!

Enabling developer mode required either 2FA or CC. I tried 2FA and that did not work for me, I had to give them a CC and then it worked.

Hi, you will need a PC/Laptop or Android phone connection to install SideQuest. We would recommend you use the Android app of SideQuest on a compatible device if you've not got a PC. Or use a friend or family member's PC to run Easy Installer to push the In-VR app to the headset once Developer mode is enabled in the Meta Quest app.

Is your Quest plugged into your PC? If so and it is still saying undetected, there may be a problem with the USB cable, even if it charges, it doesn't mean it's going to allow the initiation of the ADB connection. Also, make sure you have click 'Allow' on all permissions popping up in the headset after connecting to PC!

I'm in the file manager, and I want to remove an environment that I installed. Can someone please tell me how to get to the environments/homes? I know I can uninstall them from directly inside the headset, but it's honestly a long story on why at this time I'm not able to. I'm in the " manage files" tab of the program.

You can try it out. It should work if it is USB C to USB C, however, sometimes using different cables will not allow ADB to work and will only charge the headset once connected to a PC.

A number of things that could be the issue: The cable is faulty. Or the port could be damaged. (even if it charges the device, it doesn't mean it's going to allow the initiation of the ADB connection). Debug mode could not be turned on inside the headset.
