HOW TO USE SINAMAY FOR SCULPTURE | Working On A Mannequin | USING ROLLED EDGES | Didsbury Art Studio
Hi everyone in this video I'm working on a full size mannequin to show you how versatile and flexible using SINAMAY fabric can be! it's a strong straw fabric that you can DYE, fold, pleat, roll, curl or whatever! usually used in millinery but as an art teacher there is MASSIVE potential to sculpt with this material freely. You can sew onto it add other fabric textures to build, construct....it's fab!

What do you work as?
After doing my Textiles degree I did my PGCE teacher training at Goldsmiths, University of London to become an Art and Design Secondary School Teacher. Currently, I work in a hospital teaching art part-time to mainly 16 -18 year olds. In addition, I teach art in my studio on Saturdays and I give textile workshops to schools. I set up this channel in April 2020 after being furloughed during lockdown but soon realised I really enjoyed designing, creating projects, filming and editing my videos....so if you'd like to support me please subscribe!
