Turn the hand wheel to the front only, when threaded. Sew sample stitches on two layers of fabric. The top center tensioner is for bobbin winding, not for sewing.

it is to hard to explain . u need video ,any way make sure The tension is correct. and bobbin tension screw is correct too , and u have to keep part of the thread out the bobbin

i got my information from the number in the machine and i much it with the number in the singeroutlet dot co dot uk and i found out it made 1959 . you can visit that site and check any singer do u have for to make sure which year was made any way thank you for comment

I have this machine. Took it to a class after getting it serviced and it turns out... I have NO idea how to use this machine properly. The feed dogs would noy feed the fabric through and I have no idea why

Some of the later machines had a knob to raise and lower the feed dogs... did you turn it the correct way to engage them?
