Steel Seal - Blown Headgasket Repair in 3 Easy Steps...
1. Make sure the engine is cold and remove the radiator cap. Pour Steel Seal directly into the radiator. Tighten the radiator cap back on. Ensure coolant is present before running the engine. If you have drained the coolant out, pour Steel Seal into the system and top up with coolant and move to step two.
2. Turn the heater and fan to maximum. Start the engine and run your vehicle up to temperature (please note this can take between 15-25 minutes depending on the condition of your vehicle). Once your vehicle reaches operating temperature run for 30 minutes. Turn off vehicle and allow to cool completely. Top up with antifreeze/water as necessary, replace radiator cap tightly.
3. Leave the Steel Seal in your system and drive the vehicle as usual.
NB. If you are introducing Steel Seal via an expansion tank please make sure that there is sufficient room for Steel Seal to go directly into the cooling system and that it does not just sit in expansion tank reservoir.
For best results:
If you have tried inferior products flush your cooling system with clean water after disconnecting bottom radiator hose. Do not use a flushing agent.
If you have flushed the system reconnect bottom radiator hose.
NB: For full instructions or if you have backpressure present in the system visit www.steelseal.c...

3 Mechanics, 1 new water pump, new thermostat, new radiator and about $950 later it was finally deemed my radiator was overheating due to a blown head gasket (misfire in 2nd cylinder). The final mechanic suggested selling it on Craigslist as a "Mechanics special" to recoup some of my money. He quoted $1500+ to fix it (2006 Buick Rendezvous 3.5L) I bought Steel Seal but the mechanic INSISTED that it was too large a gap for sealer to work. I paid $60 to flush the system and put in fresh water then drove around the corner and put in the STEEL SEAL. I tried driving it down the highway to get it home and it SUPER OVERHEATED. I parked the car on the side of the highway with a note. The next day I went to pick it up. Drove it home a short distance but the temp stayed OK. So I sat in the car and kept the engine at 1500 RPMs for 30 minutes. No overheating. Let it cool overnight again. Next day I had my son drive it around the neighborhood for an hour. Perfect temp. It has been almost a month of driving and not one problem with overheating and the misfire in #2 stopped!!! Thank You Steel Seal!

Simply it worked. If you have any questions make the call, the guys were very helpful and can tell you if the product can help. I was forced into finding an affordable solution because the estimate to fix the head gasket was 3-5k, I only paid 1800 for the van! I decided to try this after trying two other products that didn't work. Then I saw a KZbin video of what the Steel Seal looked like after the product was used and the engine was taken apart. It made a lot more sense seeing how it worked inside the engine. The issue I had was common problems with a bad head gasket. Coolant loss, weird heating issues, water leaking into a cylinder, miss fire error and pulling the spark plug it was dripping wet. There was also very moist white exhaust and thankfully I had clean oil. The misfire error disappeared almost instantly and checking one time after first use the plug was dry. Then I kept the product in the radiator system for about a week. It’s been about 3k miles now and with one long 6 hour road trip down I consider it fixed and switched back to 2yr coolant in the radiator. The van hasn’t run this good since I bought it with 300+k miles now it seems to be running like new. I rewarded myself with some new tools since I saved thousands. 98 Ford V8 Tritian Club Wagon Van

I guess most of the negative comments are from mechanics hahaha!!..and rightly so , they must be pissed!!... £800 - £1000 was the quote for my Ford connect van literally spewing white smoke with a tinge of blue everywhere, and rightly so. Problem is I didn't want to spend that on my old van. Anyway with nothing to lose I tried 'Steelseal'... This stuff worked on my car , which was overheating and filling overflow/ expansion tank . The instruction on the website say to fill the coolant system with WATER ONLY for best results but can be used the BLUE coolant BUT NOT RED . I used just water and it worked . Maybe you could do another video highlighting this and also mentioning maybe removing leaky spark plugs and thermostat for better results. You do mention this on the website but not on this video or the bottle itself . Great product.

I am hoping you can help me with a huge problem I am having with my 95 Chevy Suburban. I changed the water pump in Feb. and all was good. Last month I got a crack in the radiator, and replaced it. I still had a leak somewhere so I did research and watched a lot of videos, including all of your, about Steel Seal. With all the great things that are said about the product, I decided to try it. I changed the radiator first, and the oil, then added the Steel Seal and started to run it as recommended. After about 10 minutes, the car overheated to the point that is was making a crazy hissing sound, steam was coming from the back of the motor and water was pouring out from under it! I had to have it towed to a shop (which I hate to do, they are such ripe-offs, especially when one is a woman!!!) and they found the leak was in the heater connector. They fixed that, then called to say it was overheating. They did some test and determined that the engine was blocked somewhere and the coolant wasn't flowing properly, but couldn't find where. They asked if I had used some kind of seal stuff, I told them what I had used and they pretty much gave up on the car; they told me I had two choices: drive it until it blows up or put in a new engine for $4500. Needless to say I was sick! An old lady on SSI does not have that kind of money! I called Steel Seal in the UK on 8/21/19, they called me back and the tech told me to do a cold flush about four times and it would wash out the Steel Seal and be back to normal. Well, after seven cold flushes and a lot of frustration my car was still overheating. I called UK again no 8/25/19 to talk to the tech to see if I was doing something wrong with the flush, they still have not called me back!!! So I did more research on KZbin for answers... I did a back flush on the heater core, and changed the Coolant Temp Sensor, checked all the hoses, new thermostat, etc. The temp has come down some, it fluctuates between 210 and 230-40. When I take it for a drive it will start towards the red about about 45 mph! I just don't know what to do Thank you! Nedra Pluto Antsee

Merc 2.3l, M102 Engine. Completely flushed the radiator with clean water (no flushing additive) until clear, then on a cold engine added Steel Seal. As soon as the thermostat opened up and the solution circulated the slight smoke out of the exhaust stopped. Ran at 1200-1500rpm for the 30mins and then left to cool. Now the car is starting without being lumpy for the first 15 seconds and not seeing the white/blue smoke any more. It sealed the leak so quickly virtually no water was lost even. Apparently you can leave the solution in the coolant system. I doubt it can clog other things because it needs to come into contact with hot metal, not just 100+Celcius water. I doubt it would seal a radiator leak for that reason. Happy if this fix of an early gasket problem lasts for years like others have experienced.

Sadly, 2 days later the HG must have breached further between cylinders 3&4 because lost compression and running on 2 cylinders (barely). SteelSeal cannot get to that. HG being replaced now, and head skimmed for any warping.

dingaling did the steel seal cause the mechanics issues when cleaning/flushing the system? I have a slight leak coming out of the head into the engine bay and no contamination between oil/coolant (also hasn’t overheated). Haven’t got the money for a head gasket replacement right now but didn’t want to cause problems when I actually have it done. Car is worth about £5k
@dingalingalong
@dingalingalong 6 жыл бұрын
Further update. The head couldn't be skimmed, and Cylinder 4 was suspect. Put a replacement engine in (eventually). However, the Radiator (recon one) is now blocked up, and the mechanic says probably the SteelSeal. Not convinced of that myself and still think it did the job fine. For your described problem I would give it a go. Leave the Steelseal in there for a few days but then flush it out and replace. In my case, it might be because it was left standing.

@@manuelsalgado8510 don't flush the steel seal out for a couple of days. Then do it, and put the right mix of antifreeze back in the system. Clearly, for steel seal to work in the water, the head gasket breach has to be from water to cylinder, and hence the white smoke (steam) in the exhaust. It cannot seal where the head gasket is broken from cylinder to external.

The head gasket on my 2004 Serena went the night before I was due to take son 300 miles to university , I bought this the next morning , car would barely start , white cloud from exhaust , I put this in on morning of journey , worked great , I travelled 300 miles plus on that day and it's been 100% since . After you put it in be careful to follow instructions . The only thing I would say is that I think engine still needs to run for this to work as it needs to circulate , so don't keep putting off using this , I'm more than happy . A lot of places described this as a temporary repair , however the bottles describes it as permanent and so far it's been amazing .

I bought a Mk4 Mondeo diesel privately last year. During the inspection of the engine bay the guy that sold me the car told me had conveniently "lost" the expansion tank cover plug. After driving it home 10 miles I was getting dirty oily steam coming through the heater vents and surprise surprise the water level had dropped to the point of being virtually empty - diagnosis blown CHG My mechanic said it would need top of the engine strip down, new cam chain and depending on whether it was just the gasket or a problem in the head or block. like a crack or warp etc it was going to be the best part of £800-£1000. I asked him what he thought of these kinds of miracle fixes and the answer was that it might be worth a try.... "shit or bust" So I tried to use this product which cost 39.99 and following the instructions to the letter it all seemed to be going okay until my top heater hose blew (very dramatically) after around 15mins of running it on tick-over. Apparently the steam building up in the cylinder found the weakest point. My question:- Anybody have any idea if this stuff works when you leave the expansion cover off (or loose enough for steam to escape until the engine has "sealed") Does it need the coolant pressure to work it's magic? I can't be the only person who this has happened to. I want to give it one last go before I scrap the thing which would be a shame as it is a really nice motor aside from this problem but I just don't have the cash for a rebuild

Our Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Repair is scientifically formulated to permanently seal coolant leaks that are the cause of most overheating problems. It’s easy to apply, and it’s available at only a fraction of the cost of getting the same block seal fix from a mechanic. How does the need for cracked head sealant come up in the first place? Definitely I should follow the recommendation from the bottle and that suppose to flush the sistem, buy blue antifreeze and combine it with Steel Seal and then pour it in to the motor, but I don't have that kind of possibly because the car was on the street and couldn't go to a mechanic, or suspected the car so I can reach one the bottom of the radiator. Feel like there are a lot of unanswered questions here so this is how I did it: Coolant was flushed completely with de-ionised water and then refilled with only de-ionised water and steel seal, this gives the sealant the best chance to create a seal and prevents the coolant and seal from reacting. Now drive the car at high revs for about 20 mins with radiators on full blow, high heat. Then once you’re back you can flush the steel seal and water out as it should have done its job and created a seal and just fill the car up with your coolant.

Well, first of all I’m not a mechanic so I’m not against the product by nature, second it’s not a paid feedback! I’m a real person living in United Arab Emirates and I’m driving a 99 Cadillac Eldorado for weekends which was confirmed a head gasket case. I thought I would go for a smart solution by pouring a liquid instead of pouring too much money in a garage! I bought steel seal and literally followed the instructions specially about flushing till it took me around a week to super flush it. Added the product without removing thermostat with radiator expansion cap on. It worked!!! The repair key after many trials with other products is flushing! If your system is dirty and rusty take your time to clean it. Make sure your problem is head gasket not water pump, radiator, thermostat or even the cap itself. I’ve been driving for 10k miles with no single drop of coolant, later my heater core failed and leaked the whole coolant inside saloon, so I bypassed the heater core and car is back to normal! Who needs heater core in UAE!!! Eventually to get success u need to pay some attention to details and do some efforts for correct application, don’t rush.

A family members gasket/blocked failed after having it repair after a year. Looking at using something like this to patch the problem. However the coolant tank has oil in and quite a bit. So is it worth flushing the coolant and refilling it then adding the steel seal?

Is there an antidote for this stuff? I wasn't that bothered but it is winter and the heater blew cold all the time. I tried it to the letter and it worked for 1/2 a day and went back to how it was. With great effort I fixed the head gasket and it's now perfect trouble is the heater matrix is blocked and is now still blowing cold even though the coolant is hot and stable, both pipes at the matrix are hot but it blows very luke warm. What breaks this stuff up as I'm going to have to flush the system properly?

Steel seal is designed for 4 6 and 8 cylinder vehicles with minor breaks in the gasket, if you have driven your vehicle moderately and maintained it you will have up to a 90 percent chance of resealing it if you have driven your vehicle hard thrashed and neglected it you will have severe damage and a up to a 10 percent chance of resealing it. The coolant should be removed and only water and steel seal should be used, but remember a blown head gasket is only the symptom if you repair the symptom you still have to identify the cause of the over heating and rectify it or the vehicle will over heat again and you will have the same problem. Also when you let the vehicle idle stationary at 1000 rpms run the heater on hot and turn it up to full gradually as the steel seal begins to take effect to ensure the chemical runs through the entire cooling system and monitor the temper gauge so the engine does not over heat, if it does turn it off wait it to cool down and repeat the process. Once you are satisfied your vehicle is operating properly again, identify the overheating cause and rectify it then you can refill it with coolant. 4 cyl 1 bottle 6-8 cyl 2 bottles.

Low coolant light is on and I can see oilnd water mixed. Car hasn't overheated at all maybe because it's still cool and doesn't sound funny. I'm ex military and don't have the money atm because I'm fighting with the VA over my finger and some of hand being amputated. How does a liquid like that stop leaks? Also notice the dreaded white smoke coming from exhaust but its always done that when cold since I've had it. Only 98k miles on it but I see the 3.1 are notorious for oil leaks. I'll do a little more research before trying but almost to the point of it. Really nothing to lose.

Drove the truck 7mi each way on the freeway. Let the motor cool and repeated the procedure 4 times. Pulled plugs to find electrodes coated with burnt antifreeze on #3 plug. Cleaned all plugs and drained radiator. Put in new freash water and 2nd bottle of Steel Seal. Drove truck another 10-12mi at stready speed 50mph. Let engine cool all night.
