This was the only thing that I was hesitating on with Zbrush. Thank you and I'm definitely subscribing. I love how simple and chill you broke down this video!

I saw another ZBrush tutorial on some sculpting, and I noticed he added spheres quickly for teeth and eyes, being able to move/tweak them individually without having to split poly groups or something like that. *Is that a shortcut I am missing or ?*

Old comment but if anyone else is reading this and also wants to know,, go to append in the subtool menu then select the shape you want to add. It will create the shape as a new sub tool independent of the original tool. Also, for eyes and teeth, position the new subtool (say a sphere you place in the eye socket for example) under the zplugin tab at the top click on subtool master and select mirror. It will let you select which axis (for an eye it will be X) and also allow you to 'merge into one subtool". Click ok and you'll have an identical sphere mirrored to the other side of your model so you can edit both eyes at the same time. Later, if you want you can use what he taught in this video to separate the eyes into individual subtools.

for the life of it i can't find an answer on how to just hide a subtool like hiding a layer in photoshop. when i select the eye on the subtool,it hides everything else and only shows the selected subtool. i've been google searching like crazy and it only brings up discussions about macros and shit
@ByronTaylor8 жыл бұрын
You have to select the sub tool you want to work on and then click the Eye on the one you don't want to see. As long as that one you're trying to hide is selected, you'll just keep turning everything on and off.

cool explanation, but you did not tell us what a subtool actually is... why didn't they call it mesh or layer or object?
@king_shooter13453 жыл бұрын
I don't know why this is giving me such h trouble. I'll insert a subtool and I can't make the model as a whole it thi KS that they are two separate parts that I can't move together.
@mairont18 жыл бұрын
One of the beginner's doubts: in the part of selecting subtools, when I select one to edit, it is not selected and the selection goes to the last subtool of the project automatically, do you know how to "fix" the click on the subtool q desire?

You make a good tutorial. But I'd like to suggest on future tutorials to try not to say "umm" so much. I make tutorials as well and I'll admit I had to do retakes just because of that. I find it just makes watching a tutorial that much harder.
