This video from The Potomac Bead Company shows you how to use a 1 Step Looper tool, which rapidly bends and trims 18 to 26 gauge wire in just one motion. This allows you to keep a consistent loop quickly with very little work, and it operates with half-hard or dead-soft precious metal or craft wire.

I make a lot of Rosaries, which means 118 eye pins made with round nose pliers. It usually takes me about 6 hours if I use round beads, and after the Rosary is together I go over the eye pins to make sure they are basically the same size. A one step looper would be great in saving me time.

The fact the loop is not fully closed is a cost savings for me. My customers can choose from my 260+ dangle earring designs and they then choose what they want. Posts, Lever Backs, etc. I then make them the way that they want. 14K gold & .925 Silver can put a strain on the budget. Customers also like the fact that they have been a part of the process of a custom piece without the usual high price for custom.

Is it just me? These loops don't look that great to me at all, and it seems clunkier than just using a looping plier where all you really need to do is squeeze. Plus all those little bits cut during the process are a waste. For consistency with your round nose pliers just mark the plier and wrap around the mark for every loop you make.

Very good demo, esp that finishing off on the wire to close the first loop. A bit less talking would be good. We can see the video. Cost is $46 + $5 tax = $49 for this tiny tool. Pretty outrageous pricing for a small tool made in China. There is no reason this should be so pricey. It is price gouging.

Plus one would still have open the loop to join them together so one would need to be changing tools all the time, far quicker and simpler(with a much nicer finish to just use round nose pliers. If you are anything like me then you can gauge the length needed so all your loops are the same size. Yet again pliers give you a huge range of sizes to make your loops where this limited to one size as other sizes are yet to come. This would just frustrate the heck out of me. Nice try but I will pass.

If you have eye pins that are too short, the tool won't be able to make the second loop after your bead. It's designed to firm the loop and cut at the same time, hence one step looper.

I use wire looping pliers to make all my loops. The tool is one half round nose and one half concave. So much easier and less wire wastage.

The 1 step loopers come in a few different diameters, so the color indicates different diameter (loop) size.

I think this could be a great tool for smaller beads to make connection parts, but not for large beads as it can’t get close to the large bead. Maybe when you have to produce lots of earrings or necklaces.

It is a great tool to make loops for earrings, also to make bracelets or necklaces with lots of links. Thank you for watching!
