I got this tool about a year ago from Joann's Craft & Fabric Store, and it has become my favorite ever since. I would label this tool as a "must-have", as it is definitely one of the most useful pieces I own. Before I got this tool, my loops were pathetic and always mismatched sizes/shapes. It used to take quite a bit of extra time, as well. I appreciate how perfectly uniform this tool makes every loop and how easy and fast it is to use. It really does work in just one single step with no other tools or extra effort required. It can be found in most craft stores/departments and its easy to find for a reasonable price- another reason to love it.

I bought one of these when they first came out, and the patent was still pending. They only had one size, but that was OK. I struggled to make a decent loop however because it seemed like they would never fully close. Now I understand why that happens so I use it much more often. It doesn’t close fully so that you can slide a jump ring in there and then you close it because you’re going to need a jump ring for anything you’re going to connect it to.

Thanks so much for your video on using this tool to make single loops and connectors. I searched for awhile to find a video on making connectors and yours is so easy to follow and very clear. Thanks for the tip on directing the wire clippings to the container as well. I have this tool but haven't used it much up to this point but now I can use it with confidence.

Hello, what thickness of wire do you use in this 1.5mm?
@YarnNecklaces
@YarnNecklaces Жыл бұрын
You can use more than one size. Somewhere around 18-22 gauge. It depends on the hardness of the metal you are using and how sturdy do you need the loops. For example, stainless steel will be more sturdy than copper so u will need a thicker wire for copper. And loops for a bracelet (that might get banged up a lot) will need to be more sturdy than loops for earrings.

@YarnNecklaces
@YarnNecklaces Жыл бұрын
Sure, you can use the link in my description or this one here: amzn.to/34mxTpQ I purchased the 1.5mm loop. It makes a small loop for jewelry making. There are also other 1 step loopers that will make larger loops such as 2.25 or 3mm. It just depends on how big you want the loops.

After you have made your beads from the looper, how do you attach them to make bracelets or necklaces
@YarnNecklaces
@YarnNecklaces Жыл бұрын
You can open them up like you would with a jump ring with 2 pliers and then attach, then close it together. If your not sure how to open a jump ring with pliers, you can search on KZbin. It's easier to show you than explain in words.

Im new to this, what size looper to use on 8mm and 4mm beads. Thanks
@YarnNecklaces
@YarnNecklaces Жыл бұрын
It just depends what size you want the loops to be. I'm using the 1.5mm and I feel like those loops are a good size for those beads. 1.5mm is the diameter of the loop, so the 2.5 Looper will have a diameter of 2.5mm.

I was a bit confused and now I'm going to give it another go, thank you!! ^^ also quick question you say you use 20 gauge wire, what hardness do you buy? because I see a lot that say "dead soft" etc and I don't know what hardness I'm supposed to get. Thank you for your help!
@YarnNecklaces
@YarnNecklaces 2 жыл бұрын
I'm really wasn't sure which is best. I know dead soft may be ok for making loops for earrings but you may want half hard for making necklace or bracelet links. I found an article that should help answer your questions: www.gempacked.com/blog/wire-wrapping-101-should-i-use-soft-half-hard-or-hard-wire/

I love the tool,but it’s just to wide to grip with your hands, I just wish it wasn’t so wide trying to get your hands around it, I have to squeeze the looper tool just a little to get my hands around it, so if you have small hands this will be frustrating,but it works. Getting the bead at the right spot was a learning curve,but once you practice a few times it works great.
