I have also wondered about Consumer Reports impartiality. How do we really know their assessments aren't skewed in favor of one brand over another? Bribery can certainly be offered to replace lost ad revenue.

I've also had mine for over 10 years. Almost got a new one about 3 years a ago until I found I could reverse the blades. Lord knows how many more years of use this thing will still get me!

I found a old sharpener hidden away in my drawer and it was this style. I just tested it on a few dull old knives, trying to see how it works, and tried different ways of holding it... I got decent success but the ways I was trying didn't 'feel right' or safe, as I was moving the knife over the device. Came on KZbin to figure out how to use the damn thing and so... THANK YOU lol, for showing me the proper way of using it lol. Your way looks much safer :-p Very nice, straightforward instructions on some kitchen basics :)

the problem is the sharpeners stop working in no time...i'm tired of having to replace those sharpeners so much...is there no way to restore the ones i have?....i've tried using oil, WD40, every cleaner i have and nothing will cause those sharpeners to work again...they just stop cutting the knife metal

No the yellow one is for scissors because the white one makes a double edge. Scissors have a single edge on each blade.
