Personally, I like the setting where hitting stop "pauses" the transport (the same as pressing play/pause on the Faderport). When you want to go back to the begging, you can just stop, then stop again. This is a really easy way to kind of get the best of both. I also LOVE that Studio One has the option to Hit Undo (ctrl-Z or the Undo button on Faderport) WHILE recording and it will automatically stop recording, undo what you just did, and rewind back to the spot where you started recording. For those of us who make a lot of mistakes, this saves a ton of keystrokes.

Yes...unfortunately I HAD to buy a Faderport to be able to do that. That drove me CRAZY prior...Cakewalk you could do both easily. It befuddled me as to why Studio One never created a "Pause" button??? Would seem so easy to do and so useful
@BladesMusic
@BladesMusic 4 жыл бұрын
@@chrisdunnettmusic But you could use the num pad for this...Num Pad Enter is play. Num Pad 0 is Stop and 0 again triggers this "return to where I started" stop. No Faderport needed - though I clearly prefer one, since I have one (the Faderport 8, specifically).

Hi Joe! Thanks for all your tips. StudioOne re-kickstarted my love for composing/remixing!! Is there a way to make the cursor static? So cursor stays static in the middle and the arrangement moves when in play?. Maybe a missed that tip. Thanks so much!

Can you please add SHARED arranger regions? This would be very useful for working with Scratch Pads ("SP"), i.e. I might prepare an intro in 1st SP, then a verse in 2nd SP, pre-chorus in 3rd SP and chorus in 4th SP, mark the regions on SP's arranger tracks and then just shared-copy to main arranger. If I'd change anything inside of any of the SPs, that would get reflected in main arranger, too.

Coming from Pro Tools, don't you miss inserts, sends etc. on the tracks? You can of course have the mixer open and steal lots of screen estate or you can use the track inspector, but then you only see the current channel so the number of clicks adds up. There's so much better overview in PT. Do some lobbying at Presonus, will you? 😜

Just a little advice, for those educational videos (which are very good) do not use Mac... It is embarrassing that even on those videos it is obvious that studio one has GUI problem ( GUI lag) on macOS. I can not believe that it is so difficult to make it work again as it should, as i remember before SO4.

The helper tool is a joke ! The dark blue txt is completely unreadable. To dark, to small. I just purchase a license and while I love the features, I am struggling with the GUI. Has anybody ever tested this program on 4K monitor ? I also use Ableton and there is this ZOOM feature which can resize GUI by percentage. That is the best thing that ever happened to Ableton Live GUI. Why S1 does not have that. I already discovered that several plugins do not resize properly in S1 (while they do in Ableton) and therefore they are useless (I am not going to work with the magnifying glass in hand). Please take those notes seriously - many, many, many people complain about software readability and for many this is a dealbreaker. I hope there is some way of changing those dark fonts to make more contrast.

Like every DAW tutorial, the discussion becomes almost impossible because of the rapid movement of a seemingly impossible to follow tiny cursor. I suppose if you are teaching a refresher or remedial course it wouldn't matter. I'm not alone in this criticism. So, facing this obstacle we quickly lose interest and abandon the effort to learn the DAW.....

@@mangoman3038 Wow!! I sorta had an idea that Pro Tools was changing their options, or plans, to be paid on a monthly basis. I haven't checked their website in quite a while. I just checked now, and I see where there are 3 options; Free/First, ProTools, and ProTools Ultimate. I see where the tracks are limited! I purchased ProTools in 2010; and I have been waiting for things to make production easier; (though I couldn't identify those things then), but I just felt that while PT seemed very professional, it just didn't deliver what I needed. So I started looking at other DAW's...and I just upgraded to Studio One 5; but I'm waiting on the sales tech...should hear from him tomorrow. It's a mystery why PT couldn't offer an auto tune plugin...seems to be so simple, and popular. Thanks for sharing!!!

??? Using windows OS this inserts your 1st part IN the arranger (Intro) Automatically Naming you 1st part "INTRO". Putting (chorus)(verse)(bridge)(outro) are the AUTOMATIC PARTS you get as you continue with this IN THE ARRANGER AND YOU ADD-COPY OTHER PARTS AS NEEDED to finish your song. You NEVER SHOWED HOW TO DO THIS in Either videos. YOU DID it 6 years ago in this video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIfalXeKZbBlrbM). Understand but it was not evident I did see this 6 years ago ! be Happy
