The BTS has day passes, but the MRT does not. They do have a Stored Value Card, which is the closest to a day pass. The ticket types are detailed at metro.bemplc.co.th/Ticket-Type

Both the maps for the BTS Skytrain and the MRT show the interchanges. Google Maps does a good job of illustrating the routes of each system, clearly marked by icons and a colored line that you can trace from station to station. The Transit mode for directions in Google Maps works well also, but check the route because buses might be included in some of the route options.

You'd need to take the MRT to Silom. Then change to the BTS at Sala Daeng, which will require a separate ticket purchase.

No, the MRT can't be taken directly to the airport. If going to Suvarnabhumi you would connect to the Airport Link (ARL), and to Don Muang you'd need to change to the SRT Red Line at Bang Sue.

For the BTS, tripods aren't allowed. The MRT is more restrictive and it's supposedly not allowed, but you'll likely see people take short shots with their phone or in more tourist spots, maybe some sort and discrete camera shots. For example at Phahon Yothin there's an area featuring art and security doesn't stop anyone shooting the large wall murals.

A credit card can be used to tap through the gate. But it has to be a credit card that can be tapped on the sensor at the gate, so it'll have the small signal icon on the face of the card.
